Hello everyone - I will start off by saying that this post will be a recounting of a personal memory that became a foundational pillar in my life's development, I have spent days in total philosophizing and trying to define the experience. But I'm in need for novelty so I would appreciate some outside input or perspective, especially from fellow seekers.

To set the scene; I was around 4 or 5 years old possibly even younger, sleeping alone in the attic. The house had a sloped roof with a skylight / window on the other side of the room from where I slept. The street I lived in would best be translated into English as "Bird of Prey Street," house number 47.

I began experiencing what could best be described as night terrors or recurring nightmares, I don't recall exactly how or why they started but every night for I would guess a timeframe just about short of a month I would have the exact same nightmare where an Eagle (Not the archetypal American bald eagle, but a European eagle.) Would climb down into my room through my window every night to basically kidnap me. Note; this was not a normal sized Eagle, it would walk up to my bed, stand next to me, grab me by my shoulders with its claws and it would fly away with me out of the same window it entered through. I still vividly remember the sensation of its claws digging into my shoulders and seeing the streetlights below becoming fainter and fainter as it flew higher and higher with me. I remember the Eagle telling me two things: (translated into English) "You will never see your family again," and "You will always be alone." As the days with the night terrors / nightmares continued I would intuit a familiar presence in the room with me before I went to sleep and I would absolutely KNOW that on that night I would have the same nightmare again if I fell asleep.

Needless to say I was terrified, being too afraid to get out of bed in the dark I screamed for my parents until my voice basically gave out. Sometimes they would come upstairs in a few minutes, other times it took 15 minutes. A few times they didn't come. But even when they did they couldn't offer any real help, only temporary comfort. Basically telling me to just "calm down," and that "It would be okay."

On the final night whereafter the nightmares / terrors stopped, the Eagle basically "broke me." Normally I would just jump awake out of fear as we were flying when the eagle still had me in its claws but on the final night I just gave up trying to resist. The eagle dropped me off in its nest with its young, expecting them to eat me I just laid still, intending to let it happen. But its young never even touched me and I woke up. These nightmares basically drove me into a midlife crisis at said young age and I became obsessed with dissolution and the idea of (spiritual / physical) death.

I know from my own later experiences and have read on multiple occasions that the Gods are good to us and only seek to help us grow, so it might seem shortsighted or even disrespectful to assume that this was a manifestation of Zeus / Lucifer. But I also know that real tangible spiritual growth can only be achieved through dissolution. So I don't mind having been handed a "hard lesson" if that is what needed to happen.

One could argue the psychological angle, unmet physical or physiological needs manifesting as punishment by a solar / father archetype through dream state or the unconscious. But I know that would kind of be a cop out and I'm a big fan of spiritual theatre.

I hope I told my story well, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Looking forward to the replies!

Hello,

I've thought about your dream for a short while. This may not be a new perspective. The strongest idea of this dream is (before the young eagles) you having no power over what is happening. Is that what you were feeling in your awake life? Has your will been violated about what is happening to you? This can be father (as you said), but also school principal or other authority. Then you are forced to sacrifice yourself. Were you forced to move to a new place and had to sacrifice for younger sibling/another student or something like that?

I don't think it is Father Zeus. Possibly it was something lesser that fed on your bad feelings.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

It's entirely possible that feeling of powerlessness was present, if it was related to a person it would have to have been someone in my close family. I wasn't having any troubles at school or outside the household at that time. And it happened in the same house I was born in. My parents did separate later around age 6, after that I moved away.

I tend to agree, maybe it wasn't Zeus in his glory. But to retroactively label it as Him acting as an awakening agent for me in that moment might be the empowering position to take.

And I have beheld Him at least once later in life, during that moment I was brought back mostly to that initial experience. Could be because of a father wound, could have been Him. It's hard for me to discern cleanly.

Argument against it not being lord Zeus, if it was just an astral / enemy parasite. Why did the terrors stop on their own?

Close family, so maybe maternal or paternal grandfather, an uncle, or big brother with an age-gap. Or future step-father if there is any. Close family friend?

I can think of 3 reasons why the dreams stopped. If a dream highlights someone going somewhere but the road is a dead end or they are involved in a car crash in the dream, this means that in their awake life, they don't feel secure and comfortable about the future of the path they are on, where their life is going. In your case, the dream may not be about the present time you are dreaming but what will happen, kind of like a prophecy. Maybe something you sense in your home from the little remarks, tone, body language of your parents that they are not voicing yet. Something you are subconsciously aware of (your family is likely to be separated), but it was not happening yet. So, you stopped dreaming the prophecy when it started happening.

Secondly, you are probably right that it stopped when the dream concluded. I have a recurring theme of climbing up or climbing down stairs. Many different stairs in many different dreams. Spiral staircases, fire escape stairs, ladders I must climb by hand, stairs/ladders going up to the skies, stairs/ladders going down into darkness, stairs made of rusty iron, stairs of an incomplete construction, stairs of a hotel... and in some of these dreams, I was running away from danger. I'm not looking back, I'm running down the stairs in a hurry. At some point in one of these dreams, I stopped to face the danger and somehow beat the man chasing me. Running-from-something dreams stopped. A conclusion -you arriving the destination and stop resisting- made the dreams stop. We can derive meaning from your behavior, like you already do, and also say that recurring dreams stopped because they reached a final, regardless of what that final is.

Thirdly, do you remember your dreams as an adult? Maybe they did not stop, but you stopped recalling them. A few months ago, I had a ''running from something in stairs'' dream. The only one I can recall in my adult life was that one. Last night I had another dream, going down stairs in a dark place with a group of supportive people. I'm keeping a dream diary and noticing Moon Pisces (last night) nights as well as Moon Cancer nights have a higher chance of dream recalling.

I tend to agree, maybe it wasn't Zeus in his glory. But to retroactively label it as Him acting as an awakening agent for me in that moment might be the empowering position to take.

I'm quoting sermons of the High Priest and High Priestess. It is a little tricky to explain what I want to explain. Please check these out.
So from now on everyone should keep in mind that there is no coincidence in why many of us call Zeus, Lilith or Astarte as "Father" or "Mother" respectively. These are important anchors for the mind to comprehend the higher forces and for us to also get to know the Gods. It is also an objective reality that as beings we are their "Children", definitely more so in the soul, and so that we become spiritually adults we must firmly relate to our Parents.
4. Some members think they do not need to find out who their GD is, or otherwise completely dismiss the idea of being guided by a GD.

These mindsets are actually caused by something psychological. Perhaps you did not get enough guidance from your parents or teachers while growing up, leading you to subconsciously believe that nobody can or will help you, that you must go it alone.
I guess I'm trying to say for people who lack a healthy connection with a parental figure, connecting with Gods, Father Zeus in your case or a Guardian Demon, will be healing or something similar. So I'm not saying anything against inviting Father Zeus into your life and subconscious. The eagle of childhood dreams was not a loving and strong Father, so not him, but you can use the eagle visualization since it is familiar to you.

I think it was just related to the father of this body, and yes it was quite an emotional unstable household so I probably did see the writing on the wall. The eagle dreams were exclusive to that house, haven't ever been brought back there and I don't think I ever will.

I do have occasional dreams, intensity and recall vary based on how often I meditate, do yoga and charge myself. But I haven't been disturbed in them in a very long time, any time there is some sort of challenge or an uncomfortable situation I just float away. Float up the stairs, down the stairs, floating from roof to roof above a crowd of people. Swimming pools and other water related themes have been and still are a recurring theme for me though. Most likely symbolizing the subconscious.

And I believe I do have a healthy connection with my GD, who happens to be of the feminine persuasion. I have been slowly healing and re-activating the masculine in myself.
