Hello all. My name is Shane and I just yesterday "stumbled" upon the Joy of Satan community. While I can't say that I agree 100% with everything written here, I do have to admit that I feel strangely "at home", as if I have finally found my "path". For those who might be wondering, a little about my past...
Being born Catholic, I eventually made my way through most of the Christian denominations, winding up spending almost 15 years in what is called "Pentecost/Apostolic"... a branch of "Charismatic" Christianity. The last few years there I spent in the "ministry". While still viewing Satan as the "enemy", I began to realize that the Christian dogma wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Not only that, but within the next few years, I began to see God/Jesus as a "benevolent tyrant", really cool IF you were on His good side, Fucked if you weren't. Forgive the profanity, not sure what's appropriate here.
Anyway, my religious tendencies have been turning more toward my Celtic roots (Druidism) as of late, and I've found an approach to the philosophy of the occult to be quite true in Dimmu Borgir's "In Sorte Diaboli". I do believe that everything is connected on a level of existence in energy, with billions of different expressions, both terrestrial and celestial.
To make a long story short, I'm glad that I found this community and I look forward to many interesting conversations.
