Greetings brothers and sisters! I have currently been spending a lot of time with Sowilo for a meditation project. To do this I had to reach a better understanding to portray the meaning behind this ancient and important vibration/symbol.
I have been working with Sowilo since September of this year. You don't realize how great Lady Maxine is until you listen to her say Sowilo 200 times a day for weeks
My time listening definitely expanded not only my knowledge of breath work but also the importance of pitch. I started by analyzing the notes that Lady Maxine was vibrating. Her voice was steady and powerful like the Sun. Her voice vibrates like a wave but doesn't change notes. It moves like the sacred snake that is light. She holds power and fuels the vibration.
I spent time watching the sun at different times of the day to feel the differences in sun power. At dawn, the Sun saves us from the darkness of night by bringing warmth and courage. We are no longer easily deceived by the night shadows and are empowered by the clarity of light.
During the day, we may take the Sun for granted because the rays are at its most powerful. It may be so bright that the world is bleached out and maybe even boring. Mystery is at its lowest and logic prevails over all.
At dusk, we mourn the death of the Sun in the west. The day is over and darkness has come back for it's time to reign. The wind becomes cold and sharp. The warm quickly fades away, and what was once taken for granted, is being begged to come back. The vibration is over, and the pause between the next repetition must be a breath taken in confidence in the dark.
We vibrate Sowilo for confidence, empowerment and even to shine the darkness away from us. In order to properly utilize this rune, you must use the diaphragm to engage your solar chakra. Use it with stability and power. Just like the Sun, it is steady and powerful. We aren't just vibrating random vowels and consonants that we are told have to do with the Sun. It is the vibration of the Sun. You must embody Zeus and Lord Azazel to vibrate this rune correctly. Still, powerful, and masculine.
The personal effects I get from Sowilo is still, steady, calm power. I feel at ease and clear. It is a version of consciousness that resonates heavily to Light Masculine. While vibrating in the sunlight, you can feel it resonating inside of you. We all have a Sun within us that shines our inner power. We aren't separate from the sun, we are part of it.
