Muses Rituals [3rd November - 14th November]

This is the targeted message.

Greetings to all Zevists and the spiritual faithful. The Muses Rituals have been released. In light of this, we have a public Schedule that I will conduct.

This schedule will be unique and should involve a level of participation if desired, because the Muses Rituals are not particularly long ones. As the site instructs, it begins and ends with Zeus and Apollo.

1ST PART: MUSE RITUAL

Each Muse Ritual will be done at a certain time each day as usual. These Rituals are only a few minutes up to 10-12 minutes or so, but meditation on them, as usual, is encouraged.

2ND PART: EXTRACT DISCUSSION ~ 10 Minutes

Now for a unique factor. Discussions on creative things will be held in Vultem in the Agora Room after each Ritual, and as forum posts each day.

After the Ritual, extracts of media are given by Clergy or myself, a Guardian or NG [each choice] in Agora. These can be different and chosen by each leader who chooses to participate at that time of day.

The extract should not be too long. Videos should be under 5 minutes or so, and if not, timestamped within that frame, poems a few verses at most, dialogues only a page. Members can give their thoughts on what is presented. Extracts must be related to the Goddess in question.

  • How does it make you feel?

  • What is the media meant to convey?

  • Can you see any relation to the divine in it?

  • How would you do it?

  • [if a Chart] How to interpret it?

This should last about 10 minutes or so, but a member is permitted to comment on the first part if the open-ended discussion period is reached.

3RD PART: OPEN DISCUSSION ~ +/-

After this, a more open-ended discussion involving your opinions on the artform itself, including your own efforts in them, or any related piece of media you like is encouraged. List your favorites in the field, for example, or talk about how you've progressed in each creative skill. Members can participate in this for as long as they want.

With the 2nd and 3rd parts, ensure that some level of discussion occurs, because even at 12AM the Rituals are not long, and leaving at least one reply is not exactly going to fry you. You can participate in these discussions at any point; if you spoke about it in the morning and did the Ritual then, you can still join in in the evening.

On the forums, both questions will be asked in one topic each day of the Ritual in a less sequential way.

If you dislike certain types of media or never participate in them, you can say so and give reasons why, but do not be overly controversial or hostile.

RULES

When participating, be honest. Do not polish and give answers that you believe the Temple 'will like'. Do not try to force your tastes to be like the Clergy or Guardians, or other members. Honesty is the first step to any artistic endeavor. The ONLY restrictions are that:

  1. Euterpe's discussion cannot be about 'any music'. Her realm is about classical, traditional and unity based forms of music. Do not discuss pop music, hip hop, metal or avant-garde music here. Poetry if presented must be lyric poetry.

  2. Terpischore must be about rhythmic music you can dance to, not classical; music involving the body. This includes most realms of popular music and some traditional music, but not most metal or classical for example.

  3. Clio, Thalia, Melopmene and Erato can involve different types of media relating to the theme, not only plays or poetry per se. Calliope should generally be epic poetry or an epic novel.

  4. Polyhymnia has an emphasis on beautiful singing. Someone screeching like a banshee or rapping is not appropriate, unless a rapper is rapping over beautiful singing.

  5. Do not post your full Chart or anything particularly revealing after Urania's Ritual, nor give this to anyone.

Also, do not be rude to others; this includes Guardians and below. If you disagree with someone on creative tastes, keep it moving, unless someone is going outside of the five rules above gratuitously. Try to understand where the person is coming from.

If a member does not speak English, I will try my best during my time to find a translation of some sort.

Stupendous opportunity, thank you for this schedule.

Artistic types should absolutely participate, but I'd honestly recommend everyone to participate as well, especially those who enjoy consuming various forms of art (which, in theory, is everyone).
