As it is stated in the JoS website "DO NOT begin this mantra when Mercury is in the signs of Leo [its fall] or Sagittarius or Pisces [its detriment]."
On December 10, Mercury was out of Sagittarius and begun transitioning in Capricorn.
My dear brethren, Third Sex comrades, Aryans brothers and sisters, this is good because now one can start working with the Mercury squares.
I have used the Mercury (spiritual) square before. The effects were positive, an example would be increased in intellect. Helped me through out the dreaded and boring public schools (prisons) called "High School".
However, Mercury is not currently in its strong signs (Gemini, Virgo and Aquarius) but will be in Aquarius (exalted) in January 2, 2016 at 02:36 UTC.
Always remember, never begin on a void.
