Some insider information about the justice system and others who might be facing legal trouble, even though some crimes are treated the same it doesn’t mean they’re the same.
When there’s a victim in a circumstance then there is probably a crime, so there’s one part of it. Different courts also do different things, but something important to know which a lot of people are aware of are that cops (where criminal investigations start) are just people. To kids they can seem like heroes but there are details they miss often and even negligently.
Judgement in society about crime is sometimes not even that a person cares about what a person did but just about what they can hate on the person in question for without any personal accountability for their role in society, so even someone with a felony charge might also be a victim to some extent.
I’ve witnessed first hand something called false reports too where someone has actually fabricated a crime scene in order to have someone arrested (family issue) that person went to extreme lengths to create that scene, and that’s a felony for obvious reasons.
Police are more likely to arrest someone for something minor rather than catch a felony issue, felony indictments require hard evidence and from what I know too, aren’t easy to manage. It also takes up time in the system.
But, that’s also really important because a lot of harm is being inflicted in the process.
Said family member that creates crime scenes and reports other family members is “mentally ill,” but that family member (since you can’t have any contact with them) is better off in a long term facility, no one wants to manage dangerous people because of… “resources,” too.
I wish I had more advice for anyone that’s really dealt with similar.
