Yes I can relate to what your saying.
I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and was brought up in it for 28 years form 1961-1989. They have changes some what since Ive been out. I was even a ministerial servant for a time. I also had no Birthdays, no Xmas, no Easter, no blood transfusions, etc, etc, etc. I'm well aware of these holidays as non-christian or pagan origins. including wedding rings which the witnesses still use.
I also have a little issue with the ransom of Christ and its application to taking on the new body in Christ; especially after studying the teachings of the Black Earth. I'm now an Occultist.
However where they have ruined my life is the abuse I received at school as a child - the fact I ended with PTSD over the disfellowshipping which led to depression and loneliness for sometime ( as I cut off all worldy contacts because I was told I would die at Armageddon if I associated with them ), that I was lied to on so many matters such as having the possibility of everlasting life in Jehovah's new system, living forever with the resurrected ones of which some where friends who passed in this lifetime - including my parents; being told I was part of God's "true earthly organization" and living through the failings of 1975 and all its embarrassment while at secondary school; - this and many other dysfunctional mental attitudes where instrumental in preventing me to later buy a home, pushed to move out of home too early, prevented from getting a higher education and start a worth while business, preventing me from accepting decent job offers that came along as they required handling firearms, difficulty in finding a balanced and realistic woman to marry ( rather than some programmed J.W I ended up with - which was my first choice ) and also the general brainwashing that was holding me back from doing many things that normal people take for granted like dancing with the opposite sex, kissing and going to parties with friends. Having fun as kid was scorned - unless it was based on their rule book.
Additional to this I still have a brother who shuns the family, my parents have since died very young as result of the stress and oppression of the witnesses especially the Elders, and this has also led to further family fragmentation and character assassination over the years. Additional many family airlooms and photos were destroyed because of demon possession and we had a lot of paranormal activity in the house when in the Witnesses. I even scrapped my record collection as it was considered extremely demonic to the witnesses - full of backwards masking and satanic filth. This paranormal activity scared the jeebers out of us kids and calling out the name Jehovah was the only sure fire way to stop in most of the time. Jesus name was weak as piss and did little or was not allowed. Even Jesus states in scripture - taking the text on face value - that -"some demons can only be cleared out with prayers and fasting" - they are that powerful. Yes we saw it as Satan and Demon attacks. However those experiences don't worry me, like they did when I was a kid as I know differently.
I found when I left in 1989 there was so much of the world I knew nothing about as I was "not alive" or oblivious for those 28 years. I was not allowed to read non-witness books, nor do serious research outside witness material, nor watch T.V shows on things forbidden - and so my life had this ginormous gap in general knowledge I had to catch up on after many years. Still today I have issues with many things that others take for granted. This also lead to me having marital problems and divorce with my second wife ( who was never a witness ) who thought I was more an idiot and child than a husband. She unfortunately was a materialist and gold-digging feminist - the other extreme.
So from my perspective - The Witnesses have screwed my life up.
Ironically my father was asked to be a Free Mason at his wedding ( as we have a few in my family line ) and he refused only to join the Witnesses some few years later to spite his own family and be with his school football mate who ( joined a year or two earlier ) to be in the new system. What a shallow and petty reason to join a Cult to be with one's footy mate! It's no wonder I have never liked footy as the mindset is so shallow and lacking in character. By my father joining he took 5 other family members with him.

I have a lot of “Jehovah’s witnesses” in my family so I understand how it is. That sect of Christianity is extremely deluded and extremely life hating. They do not allow people to celebrate their own birthday or any holiday for that matter. Also, they’re always complaining how regular things in life are “worldly” and all this kind of crap.
The funny thing is that Jehovah’s witnesses openly admit that every holiday has pagan origins but what they’re not realizing is that a shit load of stories in the Bible were taken from pagan legends and myths that predated the Bible and Christianity by a long shot. They make endless excuses for this but it is a fact.

My father is a Jehovah’s witnesses and he used to constantly send me their material until I told him that religion is not for me and tried to explain to him that everything in the Bible was taken from legends and myths that came way before it. He left me alone eventually.
I’m not sure how harsh your conditions are though.
Sometimes it’d probably be better to not waste your time debating with them because most of them won’t pull their head out of their ass no matter how much facts they receive.
Don’t buy into their shit.
