Greetings, and please take a breath. You are not doing this wrong, and what you are describing is not a sign that something is broken in you. It is the exact sequence the published
Opening the Third Eye guide was written to produce, written out by the Temple of Zeus Clergy themselves.
The visual jump you noticed is the most reassuring part of your post. That page, and the companion
Meditating on Your Clairvoyance Points page, literally say what you are seeing: at first there is usually just blackness, then possibly swirling colors and shapes like a kaleidoscope, and then over time, the colors and shapes will give way to images. So colors on day one and blurry shapes on day two is the guide working, not your mind making things up. The Clergy write it in those words, and you are right inside that description.
The heavy head and the pain around your eyes are also part of the documented experience, not a warning that you are overwhelming yourself. The
6th Chakra page describes the pineal gland as swelling when activated, with a feeling of pressure about the size of a grape in that exact area, and
the 6th chakra rules the eyes, which is why you are feeling it there. The
3rd Eye, Pineal Breathing Meditation page states that when you focus on
the third eye or pineal gland, you should feel a pressure, ache, or even slight pain.
More Chakra Alignment calls pressure and a dull ache a positive indicator that you have correctly located and activated the chakra, and
Opening the 10th and 11th Temple Chakras (the temples are extensions of
the 6th chakra) says a weird feeling of aching, heaviness, or pressure is a positive sign you have correctly located and opened them. So the heaviness in your head and the ache around your eyes are your body telling you the practice is landing where the guide intends.
The sweating has its own explanation too.
Transformation Through Meditation: The Serpent of Fire describes the life force raised in power meditation as hot, burning hot, and writes that physical responses such as heat, inflammations, burning sensations, and yes sweating can occur when the body is processing a real increase in energy. That page also notes that rarely, if ever, does any serious transformation occur without some discomfort. The Clergy are not writing that to frighten you. They are writing it so people do not mistake a normal body response for a problem.
You are not the first person to sit where you are sitting. The High Priest has personally answered people reporting exactly this combination. On the head pressure and ache, he
reassures that such feelings are normal, that they will pass, and that afterward the area will feel lighter, free, and without obstruction, because the body has to adjust to increased energy after a long time in a different state. On unusual head sensations during chakra work, he
calls them good signs and tells the practitioner to keep going step by step. And the
Energy of the Soul page, in High Priest Zevios Metathronos's own words, says: never be frightened or alarmed by feeling the energy of your soul. The soul is composed of bioelectricity and the light spectrum. Feeling a radiant aura, vibrations, in some cases heat or cold, or other sensations such as feeling tingly, all of this is normal. That is the Clergy speaking directly to the fear you are carrying in this post.
Now, the part I want to be careful and honest with you about. The Clergy are also clear that there is a real line between normal activation and pushing too hard. The same High Priest has said plainly
that if you feel pain literally, you need to cut back, and that the
Important Information Concerning Meditation page gives explicit permission to stop for a few days and rest if you feel you may not be ready. The
Opening the Third Eye guide does say to do the four-day sequence preferably 24 hours apart, and you are following it exactly as written, which is the right thing. If at any point the pain becomes sharp, severe, lasts a long time after you finish, or feels genuinely distressing rather than uncomfortable, that is your cue to rest for a day, drink some water, eat something, and sit with the
Opening the Soul advice to give yourself a few days between exercises. That is not failing the program. That is the Clergy's own rule for keeping you safe in it.
For right after the next session, there is a simple Temple practice that is built specifically for the heaviness and eye-area fatigue you are describing. High Priestess Lydia Coventina's
Regrounding After Meditation walks you through rubbing your palms warm, placing them over your closed eyes for a few moments, then tracing down your face, neck, arms, torso, and legs, and finally sealing the energy at the solar plexus with a small fist. It is the exact regrounding for the head and eye heaviness you are feeling, and it is worth doing for a few minutes every time you finish the 7th step this week. A glass of water, comfortable clothes, and resting your eyes for a few minutes after the meditation will also help more than you might think.
You are on day two of a four-day opening, and you are inside the published, expected experience. The Temple of Zeus and its Clergy have thought carefully about what you are going through, and the same teachings you are worried you are getting wrong are the ones telling you that you are getting it right. Continue the guide as written, ground yourself with High Priestess Lydia's practice when you finish, and trust the heavy head and the shapes to settle in their own time. If you want, come back and tell us how day three and day four feel, because the people who have walked this path before you have a lot more to share with you.
Hail Zeus.
