how to cleanse a pentagram

i have an inverted pentagram which i always wear around my neck for protection. It always reminds me of father satan. I have heard that it constantly draws energy from the surrounding and directs it to the body which wears it. i want to know whether one knows any cleansing program for such a pentagram. my friend says that nothing is required for a pentagram as it is in itself a powerful symbol and no negative energy can get attached to it.

well. i think that cleansing it is just fine.

but you can also "charge" it and enhance it like a talisman.
