how do i make an altar?

could someone tell me how to make a black altar? is there something special I have to do?

I'll revive this question... anybody know's what we really need to create an altar except candles, maybe pictures of our god, anything else??

I made my altar with sigils of satan and the crowned prince's of hell also the crowned princess astaroth I also have my GD andras sigil I have black candles, an athame a bruning bowl a chalice incense and an incense holder, and then I asked satan to bless my tools like the JOS site said to do... I just kinda made it my own

Should I have some sort of silk cloth or something of the like to set beneath my altar to seperate it from the floor, and also should I have an altar stand to set my items upon during ritual?
