Hi guys, I have a question.
Why ancient people used to justify cruelty using the religion of the gods? For example greek pederasty or nordic invasions. Or maybe the history has been manipulated by the yehubor and they have made oficial a version which is not 100% true.
By the way, I would like to apologise for a post I made saying that prostitution is being promoted in the temple or something like that. I didnt mean that TOZ promotes it, I intented to say that some members were promoting it. Also dont take It seriously, becouse I was having a panic atack while posting It (I have been sexually abused and i have complex trauma). I didnt know what i was saying. I would like to apologise to the high priests. Also i dont know very well how the forum works, and english is not my first language, thats why i have some post in spanish.
Hail Zeus.

Just because people in the past followed the religion of the Gods does not mean that all of them practiced meditation or followed Ma'at. These are actions and values that we must follow and honor. Yehubor exists and has existed in the past as well, it is not exclusive to the period of time we live in. Read the advanced philosophy Why Evil Exists & The Epicurean Paradox, it answers your question directly.

Add on to the above, read this sermon as well to get a deep understanding of why it's not logical to group in all peoples of the past as one.

It is understandable that you have triggers. All is forgiven.

As for justifications, you have to understand that Pagan religions did not have the same perspective as christianity, where every member was "part of the church", and would thus have to reflect it.

The term here is "monolithic". Christianity is monolithic, because it has a clear set of decrees and concepts you have to accept and align with in order to be considered a "believer". You can't be christian and see pagan Gods as good, for example.

Religions like Hellenism or Asatru were not monolithic. If you were Greek, you were technically "Hellenistes" in terms of religion.
For most people, that meant going to your local Temple, having a shrine for your ancestors, maybe prayer. Generally, it meant very little.

The average random person did not have a great understanding of the Gods, as it was just harder to educate people in general at the time. This is part of why Christianity gained power, the average pagan was not educated enough to debunk christian arguments.

Pagan religions have no reason to have to answer for the evils of random pagans in history, because one can consider themselves part of a pagan religion out of a purely traditional or ethnic sense, and not truly understand the Gods, that religion's ethics and morals, or even do any real spiritual practice.
