Hexed myself

I did a simple hex and it backfired. I was in so much pain I didn't sleep. What did I do wrong?

Some basic questions first, because your post is so vague:

1)What "simple hex" you did?? Is that on JoS???If yes, did you follow the instructions there including cleaning your aura (which is the most important thing to do)??? Did you evoke or invoke the negative energy??

2)Who was the person you were trying to hex, was he/she stronger than you?

3)Did you do that on day or night???Did you do that in a suitable astrological timing??

3)What are your abilities, are you proficient at white magick??Do you have a strong aura, do you know how to feel and visualize energy and have powerful chakras??? Are you able to concentrate like a laser???

4)What emotions did you have, did you have any fear or guilt or any other kinds of regrets??

5)How did you know it backfired?? If you experienced something bad, how did you know it was because of the spell and not something else???

Did the person you were attacking have a stronger aura than you?

Did you clean your aura before and after the spell?

Did you EVOKE (NOT invoke) the energy?

Are you good at directing energy? (it's best to start with and get good with white magick before trying black magick)

Are you close with the Gods? Perform a dedication, etc? You didn't attack a Satanist, I'm assuming... or a REALLY powerful agent of the enemy... which is good in that it helps Satan (sort of) but will bring heavy retaliation (which is not good and might not be worth it).
