I just found out how inflexible I really am.
Do I not do the asanas that I am having difficulties with or do I keep trying until I can do them?

I also get the pins and needles feeling on the soles of my feet. That supposed to happen?

The tingling sensation could be from ur feet going to sleep(cross legged position) or improved blood flow in that area.

Try simple stretching before u do the postures.

The link mentions that "every yoga program should include..." My question is: will there be any significant issue to my program not being able to stand, or invert? It will shortly be hard enough being in casts after the toe removal and tendon's in ankles & feet being cut :(. Thank you,
HS!

Only do what you are physically comfortable with. If you are able to, in time, do the more complicated poses, that's great. But do not risk hurting yourself. It took me quite a while before I was comfortable enough to finally do shoulder stand, I kept picturing myself falling backwards and breaking my neck lol.
