Getting a feeling of energy. For those who struggle.

AvatarFlamma Bellum4 min to read

Greetings Zevists. I will go into the topic which is getting to the point where you can feel the energies of Meditations and of Life.

Some of the new Zevists are struggling and are convinced that they don’t feel it. Not only sense but mentality as well is paramount in doing it, and is one of the major blocks against feeling energies.

So without dedication and being truly here and now in meditation, it cannot happen.

We don’t do meditation as something like a trophy put in our collection; one comes into it, goes through, and comes out evolved. This cannot happen by half-mindedly doing practices.

Feeling energies can be just around the corner, so to say, and can be like a trigger somewhere in you which can turn it on. It is a shift from outside senses into inner one and sharpening it, growing it.

In beginning stages, you can even feel it sometimes but may think that you don’t feel it because it is very light at first and lack of awareness can cloud it, but with care, if you did honestly practice, you can definitely notice it after, and after some practice. In the beginning of starting to feel it, you will feel it to a certain level, and positivity should be there and give excitement and motive to delve deeper if you felt even anything small. Everything counts. On small things we build and expand.

Everyone here who came had a feeling of something and is the reason why you choose to meditate, so never forget that it is there. Waiting for your love and attention.

Working around feeling, being in it, feeling it through the Soul in and out, tuning into oneself, going with the breath, tuning with the motion of it until you notice space inside and then a layer of energy in it vibrating slightly and blissfully, going as one with oneself’s movement in meditation which is of the breathing, expands one’s awareness in sensation and energies can be felt, not overnight but very soon.

Daily practice and consistent meditation application, best at the same time of the day to get gradual growth in it which is stable, is what makes us feel our inner nature.

So meditating truly is the key, and coming into this nature, relaxing into it, becoming yourself. After every meditation knowing you became closer to the part of you which controls your life because you did your best.

Dedication, persistence, feeling your meditations, striving to feel, seeking to experience, willing, doing truly, with passion, and awareness, repetition, purpose, assurance of moving forward…

Another obstacle is lack of purpose. But the purpose is above feeling energies which gives that feeling as a bonus. It is your power building, creating your awareness, creating your own self, mastering mind, piercing emotions and thoughts, empowering your attention and exercising it which makes your creativity and will be imposed on reality. Basically, it is the freedom and power of your own mind and Soul. This is the purpose, and also never forget this as well. This is why you are here.

You want to be more created, and more in control, more masterful, powerful, creative, more in alignment with higher nature which is beyond feelings, thoughts and emotions – this is meditation.

So always strive to establish that stillness and focus. If it is hard, we have tools for it. Start from Yogic basic breath, for example up to 10 rounds if you are beginner just right before meditation, and then stay still and meditate. We have many meditations of which some can take only 2 minutes and give the result of slicing the moment with your awareness like with a knife.

Use it.

If you have questions about what practices we suggest for mastering awareness which is needed for feeling energies check awareness meditations section in the ToZ main, maybe which chakra is needed to work upon or maybe which sacred ritual from HoO can boost this process, feel free to ask below.

Best regards,

Greetings Flamma Bellum, and thank you for writing this. Posts like yours prevent a lot of quiet suffering in the community, so I want to add a few canonical anchors that may help newer Zevists act on what you have laid out.

The order you named is correct, and the Temple of Zeus spells it out the same way. The page on Awareness Meditations says it plainly: awareness precedes power. The Awareness meditations are the skeleton that power meditation sits on top of, and without them there is no foundation upon which power can stand. That is why you can sit "correctly" and still feel nothing. You have not yet grown the windows of perception that allow anything to come through.

For the newest Zevist who is convinced they feel nothing, the next concrete step after the Awareness section is the Energy Meditation. The page itself calls it excellent for beginners because it gives one a feel for energy, and it is honest that a deep trance is helpful but not required. Many new meditators stall because they think they need a powerful trance state before they begin. You don't. You begin where you are, feeling whatever you can feel, even if that is only the warmth of your own breath for the first weeks.

For anyone who feels lost in the dark on this, there is also a sermon by High Priest Zevios Metathronos in the Library of Thoth, in the Meditation and Magick section. The title alone, "Physical Meditation: How To 'Feel' Meditation, For Those Who Don't," tells you the Clergy already named this exact struggle, in writing, and addressed it for you. You are not the first to sit down and feel nothing, and you will not be the last. The teaching exists because this is a normal phase, not a personal failure.

The Yogic basic breath you mentioned has a real home on the site. The Foundation Meditation page describes the body absorbing energy with each inhale like a dry sponge dipped in water, and it is explicit that feeling in this exercise is most important, especially when you are new. Beginners are told there not to try to see the energy, because trying to see it becomes a distraction. Just get a feel for it. That single instruction undoes a lot of the frustration beginners feel, because they sit there trying to visualize and "see" something that the text itself tells them they are not supposed to try to see yet.

A real-life parallel for what you are describing is the first time someone learns to swim. They are not failing at swimming because their arms and legs are broken. They are failing because they have not yet learned the timing of breath and relaxation. The teacher who simply throws them into deep water and demands they swim will produce only panic. The teacher who has them practice floating first, then breathing, then small strokes, builds a swimmer. Feeling energy in meditation is more like learning to float than learning to lift a weight. It is a release, not an exertion.

One more piece that helps a beginner who is on the fence about whether they have actually felt anything: the Energy of the Soul page describes the first sensations that newcomers do experience when they start to feel the soul's bioelectricity. A radiant aura, subtle vibrations, in some cases heat or cold, or feeling radiant. These are very light at first, and the article is explicit that none of them should frighten or alarm anyone. Many people dismiss them at the start because they were expecting something dramatic. The dramatic does come, but it comes on the back of the subtle, not in place of it. On this, High Priestess Lydia Coventina has emphasized the same thing in Being "Stuck" With Meditation, Patience, Overcoming Obstacles, reminding the community that patience and consistency are what carry a beginner through the dry spells when nothing seems to be moving.

For anyone who wants a beginner-friendly exercise that does not require a long setup, the Directing Energy page has a simple practice: lie quietly and become aware of the energies on the left side of the body, then the right, and gently bring both toward the center. The page describes this exercise as a key practice for working with energy, and bringing the two sides to meet in the middle is often where sensation first becomes noticeable. That small confirmation is often what convinces a struggling beginner that they are not broken and that the work is real.

On your last point about a sacred ritual from HoO boosting the process, I want to be straightforward: there is no awareness or feeling-energy ritual surfaced in the public TOZRituals library that fits this exact purpose, so I would not direct anyone to invent one. The canonical public path that the Clergy has placed in front of every Zevist is the Awareness Meditations section first, then the Foundation and Energy meditations, then the chakra sequence as the Awareness layers mature. Supporting the Temple's ongoing work on these foundational materials is a separate path and does not replace the daily sitting and the breath.

For someone reading this thread who is still stuck, the next practical step is small and concrete: tomorrow, sit for ten minutes after up to 10 rounds of the Yogic basic breath, starting lower if that is your capacity, then do one short Dot Meditation to build attention, and sit still for the remaining minutes just feeling whatever is there. If nothing comes, you have still practiced the foundations that the Temple of Zeus teaches must come first. The sensations arrive on their own schedule once the foundations are laid.
