Gargoyles in Egypt

I would like to know if anyone truly knows about the Gargoyles in Egypt. I know about the ones
on churches, etc. in Europe. But what is their true meaning and history in Egypt?


Is there anyone who is knowledgeable on this? if so, I'd really like to know more about how the
Egyptians viewed them.

So, why are you here?? If you gain no information from being here and we "never give full on answers" what is the point of being apart of these forums? I've seen numerous questions answered and articulated perfectly to the fullest. The reason why it may be taking a bit for someone to answer is because there probably is somebody who is taking precious time out of their day to research the question asked to give the best, answer. Gargoyles are stone figures put on the outside of churches and cathedrals in Europe of Gothic architecture as "downpipes" to carry water away from the walls of the building to stop the erosion of the mortar in the stone walls.

It is French, that comes from the old 13 century French word - "Gargouille"!

Aside from this, they look a lot like the demons of the lower orders? - food for thought!
