When I'm finished am I suppose to blow the candle out? And also, do I really have to sigh my name in blood...can I just drip a few drops of my blood instead?

After the ritual, you can blow the candle out or let the candle burn down while you meditate. It is not very much extra effort to sign your name in blood after you have drawn the blood. Just take a dry pen or some other implement and use it to sign your name in blood. It can be difficult to get enough blood using a pin. You can use a razor blade, lancet (used by diabetics and sold at drug stores), or another instrument to get the blood.
