This is probably addressed somewhere on the JOS website. But what, if anything has ever been said about 'free will' or if it even exists. I heard Sam Harris on the radio addressing the topic, he believes its an illusion. Curious about what has been said on webpage on it, as I don't specifically remember reading about it. A few years ago I think I read everything on JOS, but there has been a lot of updates.

If anyone hasn't heard of Sam Harris, hes an atheist who wrote "Letter to a Christian nation" and "The Moral Landscape: How Science Can Determine Human Values". Hes very critical, as he should be, about the monotheistic faiths, but generally very supportive of the eastern religions and philosophies.

True freedom is the right to non-stop self-improvement and the continuous attainment of knowledge without resistance or opposition.
Free-will comes with knowledge. I'm sure there is a sermon about it somewhere http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpent ... rmons.html http://satanslibrary.webs.com/pdf.htm
After all, in the Al-Jilwah http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpent ... ilwah.html
"I allow everyone to follow the dictates of his own nature" -Satan Sounds pretty free-will"ish" to me
If anything should be considered an illusion, it should be perfection, for one can always become better. (even when the soul is perfected, one does not simply stop meditating)

Al Jilwah: Chapter IV

"It is my desire that all my followers unite in a bond of unity, lest those who are without prevail against them." - Shaitan
