Theres this new virus coming out. Scientists theorize that it came from animals which mutated to infect humans. They're not sure if it's able to be transmitted humans to other humans. And they don't know how dangerous this virus could be, if its effects only cause cold-like symptoms or something more severe. Though it seems like news stations are hyping this up with dramatic headlines.

Number of new infections

The number of people already infected by the mystery virus emerging in China is far greater than official figures suggest, scientists have told the BBC.
There have been more than 60 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, but UK experts estimate a figure nearer 1,700.
Two people are known to have died from the respiratory illness, which appeared in Wuhan city in December.
"I am substantially more concerned than I was a week ago," disease outbreak scientist Prof Neil Ferguson, said.
The work was conducted by the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis at Imperial College London, which advises bodies including the UK government and the World Health Organization (WHO).


"Much remains to be understood about the new coronavirus," it said. "Not enough is known to draw definitive conclusions about how it is transmitted, the clinical features of the disease, the extent to which it has spread, or its source, which remains unknown."

Alleged Origins

In total 41 people have been diagnosed with the pathogen, which preliminary lab tests cited by Chinese state media earlier this week pointed to a new type of coronavirus, the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission said on Saturday in a statement on its website.

Two of them have been discharged from hospital and the rest are in stable condition, while 739 people deemed to have been in close contact with the patients have been cleared, it said.

The man, the first victim of the outbreak that began in December, was a regular buyer at the seafood market and had been previously diagnosed with abdominal tumours and chronic liver disease, the health authority said. Treatments did not improve his symptoms after he was admitted to hospital and he died on the evening of 9 January when his heart failed.

No new cases had been detected since 3 January, the commission added.

The Wuhan health authority also said the patients were mainly vendors and buyers at a seafood market in the city, and that to date no medical staff had been infected, nor had clear evidence of human-to-human transmission been found.

Ever notice how diseases that affect only certain animals (virus or parasite) never seem to cross onti animals that doesnt affect it by nature..

Aside from the "bird flu" which basicly means that those diseases must have been tempered with or manmade.

I think maybe it's a good idea not to eat out at Chinese places even in places like America. The reason I say that is Yesterday I had Chinese food along with another person from some place and we both felt really sick like throwing up nausea etc that has never happened to me before at places like that. I feel way better now but I don't want that to happen again and who knows what they put in that stuff.

I would %100stay away from it brother, I remember reading how Lilith hollered at Maxiene warning her to only get soy souce(Japonese version) from a chienese market. I also remember her saying the trick to making good chinese food at home is to slighly undercook the veggies in it

There's footage leaking from China here and there. Wuhan has been shut off, put under quarantine, and everyone has been locked inside their houses since the virus came out. Wuhan has about 11 million population. In Wuhan, everyone is scared.

Government workers are going around in the city wearing bio hazard suits to fumigate the surroundings. The streets look hazy and cloudy due to all the chemicals put in the air.

There's also footage of a Chinese man, who may have been infected with coronavirus, being quickly taken and wheeled off in a hospital bed--this was done in the middle of town in broad daylight for everyone to see. A hoard of healthcare workers wearing biohazard suits were frantically trying to get him to a medical transport.

A youtube footage of a Chinese healthcare worker (doctor), in tears that there are too many sick people and not enough resources.

Airline employees have to wear protective equipment to ensure they do not become infected with the virus. They are dressed in gowns, and wear masks, along with fluid protection masks to make sure they do not get infected.

Another footage of a different man in a subway station found collapsed. Another man was found collapsed while riding a bike.

Another footage: A Chinese man was in a bank waiting for service. He fainted from fever -- he was suspected to have coronavirus. Everyone in that room was probably infected.

A woman was caught trying to flee Wuhan in the airport until security captured her. Many people fled Wuhan during the outbreak, possibly spreading this virus.

In social media circles, there's footage of a woman eating a bat. Bats, again, have been implicated in the spread of virus. In Africa, people who ate and hunted bats were implicated in the spread of Ebola.

FYI China has had a habit of concealing the actual death counts. They do this by hiding the bodies or just straight up burning/cremating them.
So the real numbers are hidden, as usual.
