Egyptian Hieroglyphics

I was told "hieroglyphics" the other day, and ive been trying to study them but many sites say the symbols mean different letters than other sites, and idk im getting super confused. Does anybody know in depth about this topic? Or good books or websites that would be trustworthy?

Hey so I was wondering if anyone knew any accurate and truthful translators or dictionaries from English to Hieroglyphics. I know a lot of history has been corrupted and I keep getting different answers when I try to look it up. Thanks
