Did I lived an astal projection ?

AvatarFrancophone2 min to read

TL;DR: I have symptoms that resemble astral projection, but not completely. I've been blocked for two years, can I move on?

Greetings brothers :)

I've been trying to do an astral projection for about two years now.

If I am to believe Robert Bruce, in his treatise recommended by the ToZ, astral projection is being able to truly see the world from above, to see everywhere very clearly.

But in my most successful attempts, none of this happened 😢

Three times I had the sensation of levitating, a few other times I thought I was coming out of myself through my head. But all without seeing anything.

(I must precise I only meditate in the dark)

It could be astral projection.

It could just be a placebo effect.

I don't know 😞

I could actually do more, try harder, until I have that great climax, that vision that's promised to me.

Alas, between ritual schedules, personal problems that force me into other meditations, and the vagaries of life that take up my time...

Each time, it's a few weeks streak maximum, then I have to stop. So I never get there, but hope is kept alive.

So I've been stuck in this six-month program (for newcomers) for two years now 😞

Could I go to the next step? Could I consider I succeeded at astral projection ?

Thank you in advance for your answers <3

Hello Francophone, and greetings.

Two years of trying honestly, with ritual schedules and life pulling you away each time you build momentum, is not a record of failure. The frustration is understandable, but the answer to "did I succeed at astral projection" needs to be drawn carefully from the Temple of Zeus teaching rather than from Robert Bruce's "great climax" alone, because Bruce himself, as quoted on the Temple's Self Hypnosis page, warns against treating a mild floating sensation as the astral body coming loose. That warning matters for your exact situation.

What you describe has real standing in Temple teaching, but it is preliminary, not full projection. The Heart Chakra page lists Levity, astral projection as the inner state of Anahata, and many practitioners who project leave through the heart center. The Opening the Crown Chakra meditation describes exactly the sensations you felt on the few times you sensed yourself coming out through your head: "energy or tingling inside their heads… a slight pressure in the crown area," and it states that this pleasant light feeling is what makes astral projection and astral travel easy. High Priest Zevios Metathronos, when a member described the same head-exit sensation during sleep, answered plainly on Ancient Forums: "Yes. And congratulations. Do not be afraid, try to limit fear. Nothing is going to happen to you that is negative on this state" (post). So your sensations are real and meaningful. They are signs that the soul is loosening, the chakras are opening, and the body is being prepared for projection. What they are not, in the Temple's framework, is a confirmed full out-of-body experience, because that requires actual separation, mobility, and perception in the astral, not just the inner-state loosening at the heart or crown.

Robert Bruce's "great climax" of full visual projection is one valid description of the end state, but the Temple's canonical Meditations for Astral Projection frames the practice more gradually: the first few attempts are the most difficult, some people find projecting easier than others because they have done it in past lives, and the technique itself involves stopping each chakra's spin by a quarter turn and then letting go. If you only ever reach the loosening stage, that is consistent with being on the path but not yet at the separation stage. The missing vision is also not surprising: the Meditating on Your Clairvoyance Points page is explicit that astral vision begins with "just blackness… then possibly swirling colors and shapes… the colors and shapes will give way to images when you do the meditation long enough and regularly." If your third eye has not been consistently opened through the canonical meditations, you should not expect the visual side of projection yet, even if the body is ready.

On whether to advance, the For Those Who are New Initiates program is structured around mastery of the foundational meditations, sacraments, and rituals, and the Being "Stuck" With Meditation, Patience, Overcoming Obstacles sermon by High Priest Zevios Metathronos, together with his Heat in the tailbone reply on Ancient Forums, frames faint sensations as signs of being on the right path and tells the practitioner to "just keep steady what you have been doing" rather than declare completion. His Breaking Limits In Meditation reply is even sharper about your exact pattern: "Better 15 minutes daily than 6 hours only on weekends." And his Loss of Energy? reply explains the 40-day checkpoint system: stopping after a streak lowers the momentum but not the outcome, and the momentum only builds when one stays continuously meditating. That is the real reason two years of broken streaks has not produced a full projection. It is not that you failed. It is that the Temple teaching evaluates readiness by sustained, daily practice over the foundational program, not by the occurrence of one or two breakthrough sensations. So no, you should not consider yourself as having "succeeded" at astral projection yet, and you should not leap ahead in the newcomer program on the strength of these partial experiences. The breakthrough sensations are correct signs. They are the early checkpoints, not the destination.

A real-life parallel might help. Imagine a musician who can feel the melody in their head, hum it accurately, and even play small fragments on the instrument, but cannot yet perform the full piece in concert. That musician has real talent and real preparation, but they would not yet book the concert hall. The Temple is telling you to keep the daily sessions, not to rearrange your program around the head-exit moments.

For the path forward, stay inside the canonical Temple framework rather than chasing Bruce's visual climax. Work the Self Hypnosis trance ladder daily, the Merging Astral Consciousness meditations to develop astral senses through ordinary objects, the chakra openings from Opening the Soul in order from top down, and the Trance exercise for breath-led deep trance. Aim for shorter daily sessions rather than occasional long ones. When you feel ready to legitimately ask the Gods for direct support, the Help from Our Gods page lists Eshmun, Sargatanas, Zeus, Balam, Nephthys, and Gaap as the deities who specialize in Astral Projection and Travel; legitimate petition to them is the proper Temple way to seek help, rather than forcing harder meditations.

In short, your levitation and head-exit sensations are genuine preliminary signs, not placebo, but they are not yet full astral projection, and the Temple teaching ties advancement to sustained daily consistency over the foundational program rather than to breakthrough moments. Keep the daily practice steady, follow the linked meditations as written, and the deeper states will come when the foundation is solid.

Hail Zeus, and blessings on your continued work.

Hello. Astral Projection is not an easy task, so you neither need to feel discouraged if you cannot do it properly, nor block your spiritual evolution only on its training.

To reach the level where you can project everywhere requires a very advanced soul. Your chakras must be fully open, your astral senses must be well trained and receptive, mental control of your thoughts must be solid.

The six-months training program is a guideline for newcomers. It would take many many years to master all the meditations on it.

So I suggest you to keep working on your chakras, understand your natal chart and do spiritual workings to strengthen your weaknesses, do purification workings, which are a must, as we bring with us karma from past lives. Participate daily in the Gods Rituals schedule. These helps your soul tremendously.
