Detection Ritual Question

Hello all. As you can gather from the title, I am new. But not completely blind. I have been reading researching, and with all the feelings I have towards it. I know this is who I am and always am. I've done the detection Ritual.

My question is; I was unable to sign my name in blood. It ended up being a smear. But a neat smear. But I did state my name in the prayer and renounced every thing is our gods name. However the paper I use didn't have enough room so I turned it over and finished the rest on the back as neatful and as respectful. And folded and burned it with a blue candle.

Did I do it ccorrectly, or at least ok? As I hope that it wasn't too imformal that It mite of insulted anything.

I am very serious about this. And I would hate to start out with a bad impression. I've been waiting for Halloween to do it for months. Not because of the stereotype but be careful I wanted to remember the day for the rest of my life.

Just wanted to know what you think.
