“Had I as many souls as there be stars, I'd give them all for Mephistopheles!"  -Dr. Faustus.
With regard for Mephistopheles and Dr. Faustus…
In the 1590s, Mephistopheles is the evil spirit to whom Faust sold his soul.  Faust is a medieval German legend of unknown origin.  He was a magician and alchemist who dedicated his soul supposedly to Satan via Mephistopheles, in exchange for knowledge and power.
This legend was called “Faust” up until the time of the English play in the 16th century created by Christopher Marlowe, at which time it was renamed, “Doctor Faustus”.
J.W. von Goethe, wrote a couple related plays.  (Part I, 1808; Part II, 1832).  Maybe someone could help me with this.  According to “Göthe”, scholar Karl Julius Schröer (1886) the term “Mephistopheles” is a compound of Hebrew mephitz "destroyer" + tophel "liar" short for “tophel sheqer”, literally "falsehood plasterer".
Schröer attended both Leipzig and Berlin University where he studied theology and philosophy.  He was the director of the Lutheran Schools there and after 4 years didn't seem to dig the program and resigned and was awarded an honorary degree in philosophy.  The names of “devils” in the Middle Ages are in most cases derived from Hebrew.  At the end of Goethe's drama, Faust's soul escapes from Mephistopheles while he is making improper advances to the angels that have come to rescue his soul.
What does, [“Had I as many souls as there be stars, I'd give them all for Mephistopheles!"  -Dr. Faustus] mean?  It makes absolutely no sense to me.

Clear to me. It means he loves Mephistopheles.
Hail Father Satan!

Yes, this is something I have thought of too! I have been researching and studying this many times over, asking Father Satan for guidance on this.

With no luck. This is a very twisted piece, tons of allegories, that is going back and forth, twisting the pieces inside out and seriously misleading me.

Why Maxine chose to put Dr Faustus's quote on the 'Dedicate your soul to Satan' is confusing. As I have different theories of what this all may mean:

1. Mephistopheles is a guardian demon or actually Satan himself, on hebrew Satan means "enemy" and in Sanskrit Satan means "Truth".
Mephitz as you said in hebrew means "Destroyer, but really it means 'Distributor' and Tophel means Liar"

Not sure what Mephistopheles means in sanskrit, but in Greek, it has three words: "me" as a negation, "phos" meaning light, and "philis" meaning loving, making it mean "not-light-loving", possibly parodying the Latin "Lucifer" or "light-bearer". Mephistopheles represents Lucifer or the Light-bearer.

This may mean that if Dr Faustus had as many souls as there be stars, most likely reffering to us gentile spirits that are deluded by the enemy, he would save us by give us to Satan where we belongs in the first place. And we would have absolute power that the enemy NEVER would have the power to stop us again.

2. Since the plot is well twisted and are based on a demon that is acting as a mediator to Satan. Mephistopheles accepts his request but Faustus has so many hang ups, and are tricked well by the enemy which is Mephistopheles that he believes he has as a protector or servant. And in exchange for souls as the vatican did. Faustus would give all the souls he could get and give them to Mephistopheles so he could gain more power, wisdom and understanding. By creating a play, where people shows up, and the play is based on the sins etc. Makes great fear in the actors and spectators where they turn too fearful of Satan, the occult and the spiritual. Running back to xianity and loses their souls to a massive vortex of energy. Dr Faustus successfully gained power by luring peoples souls to the enemy/xianity. And of course, Dr Faustus must pay his consequenses by having only one lifetime on earth and then having his own soul damnated to the vortex of energy because of his stupid actions. How wonderful. Not.

By putting this on the dedicate site, it shows us that with Satan our soul is protected, and that our soul is immortal and Satan would never leave us. Never let our soul get taken by the enemy.

I don't know... It has been nagging me for awhile!
Hopefully someone who has solved it and are pretty accurate and confident by their info. Please enlighten us!!!

Its plain easy. Mephistopheles is a Demon that belongs to Satan and has dedicated his Soul to Him. From all the strength and beauty he received and all the happiness, he says actually he wanted to have more than one Soul inside him (like we all have just one soul as beings) to dedicate to Satan, over and over again, so that he would be able to do this again and again and feel multiplied times as good and enlightened.
This artistic verse also implies that those who have not dedicated their Souls to Satan and are not on his path, if they had, they would wish they had too many to dedicate and not just one; thus infinite existential pleasure.

Shit...I think I thought way too much on that one.

Thank you for making this clear! And you are right. It is plain easy when I look at it. Haha!

The meaning is amazing and beautiful, totally would do the same!

First of all; thank you to High Priest Hooded Cobra 666 and to High Priestess Maxine Dietrich!  I really need to dedicate, because I am blind as a xian.  I started on your 40-day program and I have learned “for myself” that the only logical thing to do in this life is to dedicate to Satan.  I KNOW IT IS.  I’ve been very careful, over the past few months, because I’ve fallen for some very stupid things.  I spent quite a bit of time pouring over the website.  I have already been looked at by Satan’s demons and have been helped.  I understand the dedication thing now and “want” to dedicate.  That is so cool knowing that!  I know why I should dedicate!  I’ve seen a demon appear to me just as plain as a normal person, very quickly at work right in the middle of a very crowded and busy area!  Either that or a complete stranger walked unescorted through a secure building and caught no one else’s attention.  He just walked right through the area, was there for an instant and then gone again.  He was busy doing something and only glanced at me quickly.  I know that demons and people have that ability because I’ve seen disembodied humans do it quite a bit.  This was a totally different energy.  POWERFUL.  I’m the only one that even realized he was there.  He helped me to see something I was doing wrong (my own facial expressions and thoughts at the time) and he made me laugh my ass off - at myself!  Others I have seen in the corner of my eye smiling and watching me and helping me.  It’s a feeling of truly belonging to real beings that are for real.  I can’t wait to see the truth.  The real universe.  You’ve noticed I was reading the dedication page.  That’s what I’m working on.  I’m not going to be distracted anymore.  I can’t go further without distraction.  The reason I couldn’t get the verse was because I was distracted.  If I was dedicated, I would have been able to figure that verse out.  I should have researched who put it on that web page, and then saw it from the perspective of truth to begin with!  High Priestess Maxine Dietrich isn’t going to put some perplexing, convoluted, dross on her own websites dedication page!   Not realizing that is the real problem.  I should have “known” it was the truth!!  Then, even if I wasn’t smart enough to figure it out right away, I would have been able to learn it over time.  The only question I’m left with, is Mephistopheles a real demon, or an allegory?  I know the names of about 150 real demons, but that name I have not heard.  I feel that there is a lesson to be learned, by understanding that verse, when I am ready to see the truth.  And I’ll see you there.  Thanks! To: Dark Pagan 666:  I regard you as a very intelligent person and very knowledgeable regarding Satan and demons and everything that goes with that.  I look forward to sharing conversations with you in the future.  And I really want to thank you for your help.  However… I think we both did the same dumbass thing.
