Dedication To Satan

Last night I dedicated myself to Satan. The thing is, I did not know there was a specific ritual you had to do. I did it the way my heart lead me to do it. I still had a great spiritual experience and do not feel the need to do it the "real" way. Should I still do the specific ritual or is what I already did enough? I feel like it is but I want to make sure.
