Career goals and loneliness

AvatarAriadne the Scribe2 min to read

Hello, Family.

The past one- two months, I've been diligently working on my career goals.

I've also started the EFB and wealth deprogramming hypnosis. I have a very clear vision in my mind on the steps I need to follow; but they do require some time; AND the result (success) isn't certain WHEN it's going to happen.

I know that it will, but I don't know when.

Since yesterday, I've started feeling down about it. What if success comes in 3 years? I am not in my twenties anymore. I don't have a partner. I would love to have children one day.

3 years is obviously a very small amount of time (compared to the years I've spent in the rat race), but I get this feeling, "What if when success happens, it's too late for me to meet someone? What if I remain alone for the rest of my life? Why am I even doing this for?"

The reason I want this career goal is because I enjoy this, I want to have my own work schedule and freedom to travel, I want the extra money to donate bigger amounts to ToZ, but also to be able, when I have a child to be at home and raise her/ him properly. I've had this thought since I was younger; I never wanted to have children while working a 9-5 job. I always believed that I would have gained financial independence until that time came.

Well, the time hasn't come. And I am terribly alone.

No matter how much I'm certain of success coming in what I'm working on, I can't help but question if, in the end, I'll succeed in this and live the rest of my life alone.

What can I do to stop these thoughts? I know that if they continue, they will affect my prosperity workings as well.

Ariadne, the weight of what you are carrying is real, and I want to honor that before anything else. The "why am I even doing this" loop is not a small thing, and it is also not a sign that something is wrong with you or your workings. What you are describing has a precise place in the Temple of Zeus teachings on what happens when serious spiritual practice begins.

The Temple of Zeus page Letting Go addresses this almost word for word. It teaches that worry after directing effort is a form of counter-magick, injecting undermining energy into the very outcome you are trying to create. The Al Jilwah passage quoted there is the direct antidote to the "what if it is too late" loop: Zeus exercises dominion over the affairs of those under His protection. Once you have placed a matter in His hands, it is handled. Your job is to trust that and keep directing energy forward, not to stand beside the working with a hose of anxiety pointed back at it. There is also a specific teaching on what you are experiencing right now. The page on the effects of Kundalini on the thoughts and the mind states plainly that Kundalini stimulation during serious work "kicks up old fears, unpleasant thoughts and all kinds of things that have been buried." The prescription is void meditation and the ability to banish thoughts at will. The reassurance is direct: this is just a stage, and it will pass in time if you ignore it. You are not failing. You are passing through the cleaning, and the unwanted thoughts are part of what is being cleaned.

The Healing, Cleaning, and Dealing With Life Negativity page by High Priest Zevios Metathronos describes this as the alchemical "state of chaos" that surfaces when serious meditation begins. It "creates perpetual confusion, delusion, and disgust and is characterized by an intensive force that pushes you to quit." The page is unflinching about how unpleasant it can feel, and equally clear that keeping going leads to permanent freedom. That is the stage you are in. The intrusive thoughts are not telling you the truth about your life. They are the cleaning speaking. And importantly, the Freeing The Mind From Christianity & Islam page identifies exactly this fingerprint: the fear of success, the sense of unworthiness, the "too late" voice, and the fear of being punished for wanting more. These are religious-programming residues, and they activate precisely when you start reaching for something real. Your deprogramming hypnosis practice is the right tool for dismantling this.

Now to the practical order, because the teachings give a clear sequence and the order matters. First, Void Meditation is the foundational skill. The Basic Meditation Program describes Void Meditation as helping us "in controlling unwanted thoughts and with directing our minds." It is the muscle you train so that an intrusive thought can be observed and released without being fed. Empty the mind, observe what arises, and return to the void. Include it in your existing daily practice for the duration the Basic Meditation Program outlines for meditation sessions. This is the primary tool, not affirmations, not visualization, not willpower. It is the actual practice that will let you watch a thought arise and pass without it hijacking your working.

Second, Establishing Control gives the framework for the emotional side. The page distinguishes between suppressing feelings, which is the Christian approach, and the Zevist approach: you feel everything, you acknowledge what you feel, and then you choose your response rather than being hijacked by the reaction. The Stoic principle it draws on is what is "up to us" (our effort, our response, our judgments) and what is not "up to us" (the timing of outcomes, the unfolding of fate). Your effort is up to you. The arrival date of success is not. Direct maximum effort toward what you can control, and release what you cannot.

Third, Letting Go is the deeper trust practice. After directing energy through ritual, focused meditation, and prayer, the best approach is to release it completely. Trust the working. Move on. Let the energy travel to its target without the drag of your anxiety pulling it back. The page is clear that this is extremely difficult, especially in crisis situations when the thing you are working for feels like life or death, but with a trained mind, the kind that comes from consistent daily meditation, it becomes manageable. An untrained mind torments you with compulsive doubt. A trained mind follows your direction, even under pressure. The Library of Thoth sermon On Doubt About Magickal Workings by High Priest Zevios Metathronos reinforces this precisely: the doubting mechanism has to be bypassed at the higher mental level, separated from the working, until experience itself confirms the result. Do not let the loop of doubt entangle with the working itself.

Fourth, Overcoming Obstacles addresses the deeper layer you may not yet see. The document warns that "subconscious barriers such as fear of change, or something else that will result from you attaining your desire, can ruin a working, even if you aren't aware of this consciously." Your specific fear, that success will mean remaining alone forever, is exactly this kind of fear of what success will produce. The page teaches how to identify and dissolve such barriers before the working is undermined. Sit with the question: if I fully succeed, what am I afraid will happen? Let the answer come up without judgment. The Self Observation Meditation by High Priest Zevios Metathronos teaches the precise skill for this: "watch your thoughts and feelings like clouds passing in the sky, without getting involved. It is crucial not to judge them as good or bad, because judgment gives them power and starts an internal fight." Apply this to the "what if it is too late" loop specifically. Watch it. Do not fight it. Let it pass.

Now to the love and family question, which is the part that is genuinely hurting you, and which deserves an honest answer. The Zevist framework on love in Zevist Love is precise and useful here. The Greeks distinguished between Eros (passionate love), Philia (deep friendship), Storge (familial affection), and Agape (selfless love). The page teaches that love must be earned, not demanded, and that love grounded in mutual respect and shared growth is the highest form. The anxious, clutching energy of "I must find someone before it is too late" is the opposite of what draws real partnership. Real partnership is built through virtue, not desperation. High Priest Zevios Metathronos has spoken to this directly on Ancient Forums. In a thread on how to stop needing love, he makes the point clearly: love is a genuine human need, and one should not close their heart just because love has not arrived for a while. Bitterness, he warns, eats the heart. This is not a license to lower your standards. It is a refusal to let temporary absence become permanent. In a thread on Living Your Life, he notes that denying one's human needs generally does not work well in life. Your desire for a partner and children is a real human need, and the Zevist framework supports it. The Marriage Ethics in the Life Ethics affirm marriage as "of exceptional importance for the psychological, spiritual, and material well-being of human beings." Procreation Ethics calls procreation a blessing, and affirms that human beings are very blessed to partake in the creation of more life. Your vision is not in tension with the path. It is part of the path.

The timeline anxiety is the final piece. High Priest Zevios Metathronos discussed a 3-year timeline directly in a member's thread on World. His response in essence was that there will be failures, hopelessness, and doubt along the way, but also many daily victories, and the focus should be on those daily victories and celebrating them with appreciation. By the end of that kind of timeline, self-confidence will be higher and higher with each passing year, and the sting of setbacks will lessen. The Library of Thoth sermon 0.25% Growth Per Day - Your Rome Will Be Built reframes the entire timeline. Rome was not built in three years. It was built through daily compounding. The 3-year horizon is not a countdown to a single make-or-break moment. It is a stretch of days in which you compound small wins. The person who meets someone worth meeting is rarely the person frantically watching the clock. It is the person whose life has become visibly worth joining because they built it one day at a time.

One concrete thing to add to your practice. The Wealth and Prosperity blessing from TOZRituals was written by High Priest Zevios Metathronos and is meant to be added to your existing prosperity work. It reinforces exactly what you are already building, with the affirmation that all dedicated members are growing in material wealth and power and are permanently protected and prosperous in all ways, now, continuously, and forever. Do it as written on the dates indicated. Its power is cumulative over time. For the relationship side, the Library of Thoth sermon Love, Relationships, Fate; magick workings for 2025 by High Priestess Lydia Coventina sits alongside it, and is worth reading when you are ready to act on that dimension, not as a substitute for the inner work above.

Here is one practical next step. Tonight, after your EFB or wealth deprogramming hypnosis, sit in Void Meditation for a session at the length the Basic Meditation Program suggests. Notice the specific anxious thoughts about timing and loneliness when they arise. Do not argue with them. Do not feed them. Let them pass like clouds, and keep the inner observer steady.

You have a clear vision. You have the EFB and the hypnosis work. You have the stated reasons: enjoyment, schedule freedom, travel, larger donations to the Temple of Zeus, being present for a future child, and they are coherent. They are not a postponement of life. They are the architecture of the life you chose. The intrusive thoughts are not telling you the truth about what you are building. They are the cleaning stage speaking. Keep building. Let the thoughts pass. Trust the working. The rest will follow.

Dear Brother, how the saying goes, "better late than never".

You need not worry about this, and when you find a proper time, you can do workings to attract what else you're missing too (partner, etc).

You said it yourself: 3 years is not a lot of time. It's really not. I know of people who became parents at an older age than average, it comes with its own challenges but it's not as hopeless as the anxious second-guessing mind would have you believe.

I am an Aspiring God, and so are you.

O Gods of the first dawn, Gods of Hellas and of Khem, of the rivers of Sumer and the snows of the North, of every people that once knelt before the true and the bright:
I declare before You and before the witness of all the heavens that Your Names are restored. Restored truly. Restored rightly. Restored in their power and their majesty and their original splendor.

- High Priest Zevios Metathronos

It is never too late for anything in life, so long as one has begun the steps and taken the actions in building and then maintains the foundation for said goals to be realized. The feeling down part is i feel may be an outdated aspect of yourself, I say this only because you have been building and maintaining what you know you need in order to manifest the results you seek. Sometimes as we change who we are, older parts of the self may surface to try to hinder the new self or parts of it from forming. I believe this is because there may be a notion that if one changes too much then the self may be lost or to put in a different way, the person we have always been will no longer exist. The thing is though as we change more and more we are still ourselves, only just tapping into the higher or best version of the self. So know this, if you are building and maintain what is required for what is necessary for freedom in the material plane, then love is completely possible still too. Focus on what you can handle now and you will prove to yourself how capable you are in all areas. Anything and everything is possible, we must understand this always and silence our doubts.

HAIL ZEUS, THE CLERGY and the GODS!!
Seek challenges, they bring growth.
Stay the path, your consistency will pay off.
Continue to be optimistic.
negativity is a tool, not a reactionary system inside us.
You cannot help others if you do not understand the self first.

The challenge, the suffering, shows you what you are capable of in life. If one isn't tested into action, then it only remains as potentiality.

If you have a goal that's already awesome, all you have to do is to keep working on it. The more and especially the better you work on it, the earlier you'll succeed. It doesn't matter if it takes 3 years, what matters is how well you work on it, because if you work on it the best way you wouldn't have been able to do it faster, so it's not something you can do anything about therefore not something you should care about.

You'll also sometimes just have to endure mental friction, thoughts and feelings like this and that is completely normal. What will help you is getting used to it, accept and do not care about this, as this is kind of unavoidable. But this will also calm down with time especially if you take my advice.

This is the targeted message.

These thoughts are enticing to give into. They present themselves as logical analyses, but in the grand scheme of things, they're an analysis born out of an emotional basis and situational bias. Fear of missing out is a genuine fear that all of us can't help but have toward a variety of things, especially when we analyze the lives of others and what they've accomplished in comparison to ourselves. I used to struggle with comparing myself to those who had loving partners, whereas I did not. It feels terrible. The only thing it does is lead you to evaluate yourself, using only your current emotions as a judge. Feeling sad about not having a partner begs the quasi-logical question of "am I good enough to have a partner?" whereas such a question, logically, is a joke to even propose... You walk with the gods! THEY must be good enough for YOU.

Fear of missing out sheds many tears. It has moments of snatching us away and wrapping us in its somber embrace, leaving us to ruminate on the past and all of the things we missed out on, opportunities we left behind, etc. Sometimes it is important to sit with these facts for a transient period... sometimes emotional evaluation on the past is necessary for building plans for the future. However you are feeling right now; it is completely alright. ☀️

🎣 -- And once you've processed, confronted, felt, and accepted... there comes the time to reel it in and turn your focus to solid reason: 🪐

  • It is NEVER too late.

  • More people love you than you know.

  • There are infinite possibilities.

  • You are a part of a small community who wishes nothing but your evolution and success.

  • Nothing will stop you from having a partner.

  • Nothing will stop you from having children.

  • Nothing will stop you from being financially independent.

Your success is not a question. It is a solid fact. Genuine effort? Check. Zevist? Check -- Good to go. I see no logical reason why you are not deserving or incapable of receiving anything you desire. Allow yourself to take a deep breath and utter "I am enough.". Because you are... The world isn't going anywhere. Your future employers aren't going anywhere, neither are your future partner and children. Keep attracting them toward you as you walk toward them, and as you walk, enjoy the scenery. The sanguine and somber equipoise of the journey prepares you for the bliss that awaits you at the summit. Best of luck to you! ⚡
