The candles are the easy part to find. Granted, people use flashlights,
lanterns, and headlamps for blackout emergencies these days. But,
virtually every major store that sells groceries or homewares will carry
taper candles. Walmart and Target carry taper candles, just not in
black. Get the Christmas ones--a plain red taper is all you really need
for this.
And, do they still celebrate birthdays with candles? If that is all you
can get, it will do fine. They don't burn long, and you will need to
insert it in gravel or clay instead of a regular holder. But it will do
the job. The numeral candles work well--get candles that represent the
numbers you wish to use. Using those, I would be tempted to get three
numeral 6 candles and light them all.
Without even that, I would use a cigarette lighter (there are still too
many people around that smoke cancer sticks) or even a LED candle. With
a LED, you cannot burn anything but you can still rip, shred, or bury
your paper.
And, if you have the money and about 2 weeks, I would definitely suggest
ordering from Duat Designs. They carry black candles without right-hand
path symbols or blessings, and other colored candles. I am sure they
would appreciate your business because, when I ordered mine, my order
number was 26 (a double digit number). Much later, when I reordered a
dozen black candles, the number was still in the 30s. By ordering from
them, you are keeping a Satanist in business to serve other Satanists
without kissing Yehuborim' asses, and you are getting a product that is
cleaner burning. Be advised that the prices are about double what a
paraffin candle at Target would cost.
