What made me doubt Christianity in the first place was the whole idea of "Faith" and how it changes you. Yeah, duh, of course enough faith in literally anything will bear fruit of some sort. (So I do ask that you keep this in mind before telling me that I need to "believe" before going in. Not rejecting does not equate to "believing x is true" in my mind)
Now, in regard to my question. I'd like a quick point in the right direction when it comes to historical evidence, philosophical ideas (Food for thought), etc.
If you would like to say such evidence here rather than point, I am all for it. I do, however like to read and get my own understanding before discussing with others deeply.
Much love y'all!
Hello, glad to see you here. I will give you a bit of a longer reply, read it as you have time.
I could, I suppose, run you through a flowchart of philosophically proving "Does God exist" -> "Does God have multiplicity" -> "Do the Gods interact with humanity" -> "Can the mortal soul become divine" -> "How does one do that" etc. etc., and "intellectually prove" Zevism to you.
There's a real path to do that from a completely mental standpoint, through the Neoplatonist philosophers, through experiential testimonies from Eastern meditators, through historical common threads from various cultures, all confirming the Zevist viewpoint and system.
However, I don't think that's the best way to go about this.
Whenever showing Zevism to others, I always take great pride in the fact that we are a path of experience and practice.
You should, of course, study the sites, as well as whatever else you are guided to study by the Divine. (pray to the Gods, respectfully asking them to point you in the right direction, even if you are skeptical about their existence)
But what is significantly more important is to actually do the practices. Within libraryofthoth.org, you'll find the 40 Day Meditation program, and that is very important to follow. In 80% of cases, it will bring about certain experiences that will, at the very least, make you realize that there definitely is something to this path, enough to pursue it further.
I would also recommend looking through the Meditation section of the ToZ main site, as there are things you should get into that are not necessarily emphasized in the 40 Day Program, such as Trance.
The practical path towards discovering Zevism starts at understanding the human soul, which starts with understanding the human mind. You will be able to learn how to operate the soul by exploring the mind, and the path of meditation will reveal to you various mental faculties and aspects (such as the unfolding of your mind within trance states) that will absolutely make you interested to delve further.
This is a highly mechanical process, it is not "have faith". It works through understanding and using certain mechanisms, and these
work, they are not a matter of belief or placebo. As you advance in meditation and start grasping the idea of energy work, through Foundation Meditation, trance states and practice with visualization and directed focus in meditations like Aura Cleaning, you will find yourself experiencing more and more "paranormal" realities.
God Rituals, on tozrituals.org, are also important to be pointed towards, as Theurgy is an external process entirely. It is up to the Gods' decrees and (much wiser than ours) opinions, whether you will be blessed with certain experiences, blessings or guidance after a God Ritual, such as the Grand Ritual of Zeus. Spiritual development does help one operate with and within these Divine powers more consistently and more deeply, but "little miracles" do happen for those that have a real spirit of seeking the truth.
With all that being said, the TL;DR is to read the sites and meditate. The rest will unfold by itself, nobody here needs to "indoctrinate" you in any way.
