Everyday Father Satan is on my mind. So is Astaroth. From time to time other demons come into my mind and maybe stay for a couple days or so. About a week ago, the name Andras came to my mind. I had no idea who this was or what it meant. I think it was the next day I was reading something (can't remember where) and saw the name. So then I decided to look on the ToZ. There I saw he is one of the demons so now it made sense.
Yesterday morning while getting dressed in the morning I heard something bump against the house and looked out the window. There was a bird on the tree limb so I started talking to it. You know that cutesy stuff you talk to dogs. I said, "Hey there birdie, good morning". I noticed he looked different to me so I said, " Turn around so I can see your pretty feathers". AND HE DID!!!! I was like WTF!!! I was laughing so hard, I couldn't believe it. His feathers were black and white striped. After I stopped laughing it occurred to me that I'd just read something about black and striped. So I went back to the ToZ and there it was - HP Pythia's description of Andras.
You can fit everything I know about birds on a toothpick. I know birds fly and, um, let's see. Oh yeah, birds fly.
Then I started wondering if this is a sign from him. I'm so afraid of being gullible and trying to decide between the two camps as to whether there are coincidences or not. Andras has remained in my thoughts. I started to wonder if he is my GD.
Unlike, many newbies I was never in a rush to find out who my GD is. I trusted that when the time was right he or she would come to me and I would know. Besides that, not being astrally open I didn't see the point in obsessing about it. I just focused all my attention on Father Satan and meditation. I've started to have experiences of starting to open astrally but they are here and there. Again, I'm not obsessed about it. I know with consistent work it will come.
Just wanted to share this with the family and welcome any thoughts.

Every canvas is valuable because its more experience. Maybe its just an exercise to see ways you can blend, how to layer, a new way to make something work. These skills become 'tools' in your toolbox. Don't be afraid to make mistakes; sometimes a so called 'mistake' turns out to be amazing! This happened with Lady Astaroths portrait. I did something at random without thinking and I suppose I could have said it was a mistake but I decided to go with it and it led to her magnificent dress, made it better than I had even conceived (and not at all what I'd originally set out to do). Another Zevist I know actually said to me that She had appeared to him once wearing a dress very much like this one so maybe it wasn't a 'mistake'.
Often, as with writing a novel, the painting or the character in the book takes on a life of their own, and they start telling YOU what they want, what you have to do. You think as the creator that you are in charge but you aren't. Your Muse is in charge. Paintings often do this I've found. Especially with the Gods Portraits. I focus on them, let them know I'm setting about to paint them and ask if they'll give me their guidance, tell me what they want, etc and I'll do my best to listen and do as they want. My first Portrait was of Andras. I did Him for myself. I just wanted His picture. So I could feel closer to Him. I carried it about everywhere with me, took it out all the time to stare at it. I was staring at Him one day when He told me I should paint ALL the Gods. I didn't think I could. I said, Oh, I don't know....He said: It's a big job, but I know you can do it! So I said I would do it.
I don't want to bore anybody who has seen me post about this before so....I'll try to be really brief. Long story short Satan told me (I'd begun sketches of two other Gods) put those aside, you're doing ME next. After I finished His and He liked it, He gave me permission to approach any of the other Gods of Elysium to ask to paint them and told me to carry on. So, in essence I was going through Him. HPS Pythia has written that when we are wanting to connect to a God we haven't met before, we must go through Satan. I hadn't remembered this, but Satan had and took care of it. He told me to do His next because He was vetting me out for the job before He approved.
I've worked every day for a year and a half on the Portraits. But then I found I was just....out of gas. In need of some time away. I think they allowed me to share a few Portrait details now, so I can be encouraged to pick this back up again and finish. I've been feeling really low because....I felt like I'd failed. I took time away when I should have been working. I understand they aren't mad at me, they want me to finish my job and I feel they felt I needed a little encouragement by seeing some positive feedback on the tiny bit I've released here. So thanks everyone.
I'm grateful to Satan too, for showing me that art history painting, inspiring me by showing me your face on it so I would sit up all night to make it happen. It really helped as well. I feel ready now at last to resume painting. I'm looking forward to the day when I can show everyone the faces of our Gods, ALL of them.
Yoake, I know its hard. I've worked for a long time to get to this level. As good as I may be, I see a lot of artists who are even better. There is always someone even more skilled. But, this just inspires you to work harder. We all learn from, and draw inspiration from one another. Nothing worth doing comes at the snap of a finger. Its all about doing the work. Being good at what you do takes dedication to the craft, attention to detail, serious application and determination. Its work. I've had this conversation with other artists I know and respect for their professionalism, work ethic, skill level and they all agree with me: Its about the daily grind of doing the work. I can do things now I couldn't do 2 years ago. But I worked constantly those 2 years, did a lot of swearing and crying out of frustration because I knew what I wanted to do but couldn't figure out how to make it work :)
The best advice I can give you is that doing the work consistently every day (or as much as you can) is what will build on itself as you hone your skills. Keep trying, keep painting (I would add here its the same principle with the meditations in trying to spiritually advance). Experiment, don't be afraid to make mistakes and have fun! Making art is fun!

Zola do you use oil or water based paints?
And in my own opinion, If I were a God, I dont think I could possibly be mad at you for this brilliant work. Who cares if it took a little extra time. Quality over quantity right? It's not like your taking 50 years to do the job. Youre not leaving your responsibilities.

HailOdin666: I use acrylics. I taught myself how to use photoshop. I also do landscapes old school, paint on canvas. So I'll take a JPG of my landscape and then incorporate it into a Digital Portrait. Then translate the portrait back into acrylic. So it's a mixture of paint on canvas with digital airbrushing that is then translated back out of the digital into acrylic paint on canvas.
LIke for example, the portrait of Belial, or Enlil. The technique has taken me years to figure out and is time consuming. To translate one of these onto a canvas takes 4-6 weeks. And the process is very technical. you can do it all ok to the last step and then fuck it up. This happened with Amon Ra's Portrait. I ended up having to re-do a lot. I've had several artists ask me how the hell I'm doing this and I'm considering offering a workshop to teach them. I'm not too worried about sharing the process as every person doing it is going to do it differently. For example you can take a cake recipe and share it among others...and they may make something nice. But it takes a master chef to make the real deal cake.
Though I hesitate to say I'm a master chef, maybe I am. I just don't want to get a big head. I just do my best and hope its acceptible to the Gods. There is always more to be learned. I see this in the newest portraits as compared to the first ones. Makes me want to re-do the older ones but if I keep being dissatisfied with the older ones, the work will never get done. I'm not involved in the art community, and I am not familiar with these techniques. But I think you have created a modern unique and brilliant way of creating an image. I've never known someone else to do this. They have so much depth to them!
