Affirmations for cleaning the aura?

Does anyone else here use affirmations while cleaning the aura? Do you believe they are necessary? Particularly when using mantra....?

Not when 'cleaning' but when doing the aura of protection afterwards... As for mantras, I use the rune Algiz and Berkano.

Personally I do use affirmations for pretty much anything. My opinion is to go by how you feel. When using SURYA for cleaning, I sometimes affirm "Suryae energies are burning off any and all negative energies/thought-forms attached to my aura". With ALGYZ "Algyz energies are cleaning/purifying my entire aura. My aura is now perfectly clean". I always adapt the affirmation blazed on what I feel I need at the moment of the cleaning. Just be creative and most importantly, get in tune with yourself

Now you've got me curious. I particularly use the ALGIZ rune when doing my aura of protection. So, let's say I'm done with my usual affirmation for my aura of protection, would I then envision the algiz rune in my aura and further state affirmations, or just visualize it?
