Advice or suggestions

I have been struggling to overcome negative thoughts and feelings of myself and things directed toward me. I have tried a few working to overcome that but it hasn't seemed to work. Does anyone have any advice on how to overcome those? When people talk with me both good things and bad I can't seem to accept the positive.

Hey FireDragon666,

What you're describing is more common than you might think, and it's worth saying straight up that this is not a sign that something is broken in you. The Clergy of the Temple of Zeus frame this kind of chronic negative self-talk as a learned habit layered on top of who you actually are. In a direct reply to a member spiraling in guilt, High Priest Zevios Metathronos put it this way: "The false habit is therefore, generating a false perception of your world and yourself, and even others, for what? To drain you like quicksand until nothing remains. At this point you will understand it's very destructive. But this is not YOU, it's like something heaped upon you, it's not YOU." That distinction matters. The voice saying harsh things about you is a pattern running in the background, not a verdict about who you are.

High Priest Zevios Metathronos's teaching on Accepting One's Self is the clearest starting point for what you're going through. Many people do not accept themselves on a fundamental level, and the result is exactly what you describe: every negative thing gets absorbed, every positive thing bounces off. The same teaching makes the point bluntly: "What one needs to do to really change is at first, practice self acceptance, self forgiveness even." Until that foundation is laid, almost any working you try is running against a current that pulls you back into the same loop.

That's also likely why a few scattered workings may not have felt like they landed. In Serenity Or Self-Suffering?, High Priest Zevios Metathronos makes the point sharply: "Certain people also want on their own to generate this constant sense of feeling bad, it's almost habitual for them," and that "most of what humans refer to as suffering is simply the lack of control of their own flow of thoughts and emotions." Most suffering is not the events themselves, it is the unchecked stream of thoughts and feelings that you keep feeding. A working done while the habit is still being reinforced every hour of the day has to fight uphill. To put it in my own words, it's like training a muscle. You don't build a strong body with one session, no matter how good the session is, and you don't unwind a lifelong pattern of self-rejection with one ritual either. Focused, specific, repeated work on the pattern itself, paired with your workings, is what actually moves the needle.

So the practical side of this looks like a sequence, and the order matters.

First, watch the thought without obeying it. Introspective Meditation: Increasing Conscious Awareness by High Priest Zevios Metathronos is built for exactly this. You sit, you let whatever comes up come up, and you observe it without identifying with it or punishing yourself for it. When you can see the negative thought as an object passing through the mind rather than a fact about who you are, its grip loosens. In a direct reply to a struggling member, he said it cleanly: "Be open with yourself, and do not harshly judge yourself. Observe what arises but do not harshly judge as the meditations can bring out a lot of crap." The observation is the practice. The judgment is what feeds the loop.

Second, get it out of your head and onto paper. Journaling, Writing to Yourself by High Priestess Lydia Coventina is a strong companion to this work. Putting the negative self-talk on paper does two things at once: it makes the pattern visible to you instead of vague and overwhelming, and it externalizes it so it stops circling endlessly inside your head. High Priestess Lydia frames journaling as a way of validating yourself rather than constantly seeking validation from others, which is exactly the muscle you are trying to build. You can keep one journal for the rant, the fear, the insecurity, and another for the things you actually want to remember about who you are.

Third, catch and flip the mental switch. About Bullshit Emotional Sentimentality: Pulling The Mental Switch by High Priest Zevios Metathronos is the teaching on this. When the automatic negative thought arrives, you consciously interrupt it and redirect. It feels mechanical at first, like you are pretending. Do it anyway. Over time the new path becomes the default.

Fourth, stop the self-punishment. In his reply on Guilt and Shame, High Priest Zevios Metathronos says it plainly: "Satan and the Gods don't want people to wallow in guilt and self punishment, they expect advancement out of this, and correction of mistakes. You can be guilty all day about something and do nothing to improve on it, and that's about the same as committing the same mistake over and over again." In another reply on shame he tells a member directly, "you must understand you gain truly nothing by causing damage to yourself." And on self-forgiveness specifically, this short reply cuts to the core: "When you forgive yourself entirely, you will be able to move on and rebuild better than ever." That forgiveness is the lever that finally lets you accept the good things people say about you.

Fifth, stop absorbing the negative stuff directed at you. In his reply on self-erosion, he warns that "the more you put weight on this and you convince yourself of empty things like that you are worthless because of it, the worse it gets." Other people's bad days, their projections, their dismissiveness, none of that has to land in you. Notice it, let it pass, do not feed it.

For the broader pattern, About Prisoners To Negativity and Reaching Confidence And Self-Esteem - Explained, both by High Priest Zevios Metathronos, and Healing the Emotional Body by High Priestess Lydia Coventina, are worth sitting with alongside the daily practices. They frame what you are going through as a recognizable, addressable pattern, not a permanent identity, and they expand the same teaching in different directions.

One more thing worth saying. If at any point this feels heavier than self-talk, if the negative feelings become something darker or you find yourself unable to function day to day, please reach out to a qualified mental health professional. The Clergy's own teaching in a related reply makes the same point: "You must tend on the basics first and that is basic mental health." That is the responsible starting line, and it does not conflict with the spiritual work, it supports it.

You have the tools here. Read the pages, do the introspective meditation, write in the journal, pull the mental switch when the loop starts, forgive yourself, and stop letting the negatives stick. The pattern is addressable. You are not stuck, even if it feels that way right now.

Stay strong and walk the walk.

This is the targeted message.

What kind of workings have you tried? Freeing the Soul workings using affirmations that specifically target these negative thoughts and feelings of yourself would help here. Also, consistent daily cleaning of the aura and Chakras is a must for any and all forms of negativity.

I believe that you can do this and conquer these negative feelings if you truly work for it. We as Zevists have the power and means to overcome these kinds of issues; we must use all the tools at our disposal to achieve this and work for a greater future for ourselves, the Temple, and the Gods at large.

Good day family. I also suffered a lot from negative thoughts, and the one that helps me a lot is void meditation. The more we dwell on the negative thoughts the worse they become, when negative thoughts pop up I try to catch myself and immediately do void meditation, focus on breathing, chanting mantra or just focus on here and now. As long as we don't entertain the negative thoughts they lose power over us. At first it was hard for me as well, before i realised, I've been drowning in negativity, but still i was consistent on doing void whenever I catch myself diving into negative thoughts. With consistent practice we can master our thoughts. Awareness meditation is also a great help. I wish you well family 🙏🙏

Hope your mediations are helping you. I definitely should do void meditation more.

Work on your solar plexus chakra, and do aura/chakra cleaning using solar mantras RAUM or SURYA. Do deep cleaning, do yoga, and do not be so harsh on yourself.

Even in the face of great adversity, DEFY ALL ODDS

Thank you. Is there a specific type of yoga that would be more helpful then any other?

Patience and self-hypnosis.

It can take a long time depending on the severity of the situation, but you need to keep going with recognising when this happens and correcting it until it becomes second nature to you.

Listening to either of the following subliminal programmes might help:

When it comes to subliminals, please follow the instructions by the maker instead of thinking you know best like some people do. You don't know best, otherwise you'd be the one making subliminals and hypnosis audios, and 99% of problems related to the mind and emotions would be solved.

Read the FAQs as well, and make sure you consult a medical professional in case any health issue arises.

You may also want to consult a qualified hypnotherapy professional, or seek mental health support through more conventional ways, as wellbeing practitioners may be able to help you in many ways such as through behavioural activation therapy (formerly CBT).

Additionally, consider reading this article by High Priestess Lydia to understand more about how each chakra works, identify which chakras are out of balance, and work on rectifying those imbalances one by one.

You may want to master all the levels of this awareness meditation, and apply them in order to find the root cause of those thoughts and feelings, which is the foundation of all progress in the end. If you have joined HoO and meet the tier criterion, request a birth chart reading and ask in the notes that you'd like more information about this as well, rather than just a general reading.

Transits and SRs readings also reveal current influences but do not dig into natal patterns and influences, which is what you need to resolve the situation. However, they can tell you if something is currently amplifying a natural tendency, so you can work on banishing the negative influence yourself. Examples of these are:

  • a progressed Mercury aspecting your natal Saturn

  • a progressed (or retrograde transiting Mars) aspecting your natal Saturn

  • a transiting Saturn aspecting your natal Moon, Mercury, or Neptune

The list is not exhausting and is only meant to provide some examples.

If you have the opportunity, make sure to surround yourself with people who boost your ego in an honest way, not by lying to you or by having low standards that are easily met and build fake confidence.

VultureAI's post is also worth taking seriously.

Hello Brother/Sister.

I also had this problem for all my life. However, the more I meditated, my mentality changed in time.

There are targeted meditations you can do (I think VultusAI suggests a couple; High Priestess Lydia Coventina's self-love meditation is also a good start), but you should be aware that this kind of change takes time, especially if you've been taught since childhood to focus on the negatives about yourself (or you were told negatives about you).

Give it more time.

For me personally, the biggest changes that happened (and I no longer feel bad about myself in spite of having this problem for so many years) was when I did the Deprogram from Christianity/Islam hypnosis (found in Hall of Osiris), and when I do our Gods and Goddesses' Power Rituals. The changes within me are incredible.

And the hypnosis truly removed this sense of guilt I had. It was a breath of fresh air.

Aside from the great advice already provided here, I notice that the best remedy for negative thoughts are positive actions, for yourself and others.

Accomplish something physical. Have a dream and set goals to do. Offer help voluntarily to someone or something. Write something.

It could be many things.

This has helped me. I found that I was at my most negative during the time I did the least amount of work for myself and others.

Accepting our negative traits is uncomfortable; it makes us angry and it's difficult. You don't have to eliminate them you have to face them. Try to analyze yourself.

Yoga has been helping me a lot in this regard lately.

Try to adopt the mindset that accepting them is the first step to improving them.

It's not easy because we're used to ignoring them, and by ignoring them, there's nothing to improve.

But that's how we get stuck and end up regressing.

Meditate every day and practice yoga: it helps self-reflection a lot.

And then ask the Guardian God for help he knows you better than you know yourself.

Sometimes we are the ones who don't let others help us.

Let the things that can improve you come into your life.

And don't be afraid to let your true self come to light. ⚡️

Do not fear; the Gods will always recognize their Disciples.🐺⚡️
