You can improvise, but upgrade when the opportunity arises.
I started out a long time ago, and most of my altar props where brass
that I pinched from my grandmother. Over the years I have accumilated
some nice pieces, but in the begining I think its fine to make do with
what you have, as long as you do it to the best of your abilities.
Try not to cut corners on candles and insence though. I have always
found the better quality the candles and insence, the more rewarding
the results. Its just more respectfull. You may find that things
present themselves to your availability, for instance, I wanted some
Silver Candlesticks, the ones I wanted where very expensive (or alot
more money than I had at the time), I did not wait long before spotting
a pair in a charity shop window, at a fraction of the price and nicer
than the ones I had my eye on.
Charity shops are a great place to find old silver. Steer clear of the
xian ones though, thats like giving money to them.
