The spirit could easily follow you everywhere and besides that, it IS very stupid to even think about killing her/him. Satan loves children,maybe that's why nothing has happen to your sibling.

Do a ritual and ask for guidance...killing your sibling won't help you
with nothing.He/she can be your friend and you could meditate/do
rituals together,if you show him/her how and if he/she believes
this.You can't force your sibling to do anything and you can certainly
NOT kill him/her just for some stupid reason.
