Personally, I would recommend the Sun square for protection, and then start another working such as using a rune or sanskrit mantra (in the Money Spells PDF in the files of these groups). The Sun won't be in Leo long enough to do both one after the other, but Sun in Leo is an excellent time for money as well.

Myself and others have not had as many results doing the sun square for finances, as using it for spiritual, health, and protection purposes.
