2012/Nibiru/Poles Shifting, etc.

I'm sure this has been brought up numerous times. I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but someone has brought this to my attention recently. I've heard about it all over the past few years and to me, it sounds like a bunch of fear-mongering. I was told something to the effect of the poles are gonna shift when the planet Nibiru does some sort of alignment....or whatever. Which they say is gonna result in strange weather from now until late 2012 or early 2013. As a result, the "sources" says that 95% of the human population will be wiped out.

Is there any truth to any this? Or is it just misinformation and fear-mongering?

This is in conjunction with my previous answer. Because xianity is in for an epic fail they use fear to keep their followers. The mayan calendar ending in 2012 doesn't mean all that illogical shit they talk about will happen. Real Mayan indians get surprised when people say that its gonna be the end of the world, they say no such thing is implied.

Christinsanity will collapse prolly until 2012 but all that shit about polar shifts and Nibiru coming that year is ridiculous.

That was an interesting read. I had a strong feeling that this "end of the world" talk was just BS, but had no way of proving it.

There has to be somebody somewhere making lots of money off of instilling this fear into people over 2012. Just like lots of people made money off of the Y2K panic. I need to find out who's making money off of it so I can make me some too.

This pole shift nonsense is basically fear-mongering. The poles shift all the time; they're not static. The planet itself, a living organism, is not static. If it were, it could not sufvive the forces exerted upon it. Yes, earth changes are coming as we can see from, for example, the more rapid than expected Arctic melt amongst other things. But these 2012 'predictions' have really gone off the deep end and are now often being used (as usual) as a shackling tool, i.e. "get 'saved' or else' ...

The History channel is overflowing with this end-of-the-world stuff (Nostradamus, Isaac Newton, etc.) done up in true shobiz style ... it was entertaining for the first couple of nights, then it got boring and repetitive, with no end in sight.
