Just bitching/venting.

I get so annoyed by "updates" that don't really do anything but change the appearance, functionality and then don't even work with the system anymore.

Also why is my phone of only 3 years old outdated? And why the fuck are my downloaded files deleted when I kick the browser off my phone that I downloaded those with? what the fuck.

T used to be that systems were supported for about 10 years yet with some of the older files (mostly browsers) I get this BS like "your browser is no longer supported" and then it just simply refuses to load any pages.

Or the forced automatic updates. How about no?

I seriously crashed my system once with that. Harddisk memory failure. Was the weirdest thing.

I understand patches are needed to be done for security things but the "newer" versions are heavier to use, slower and basicly feel like they got a crap ton of bloatware.

No wonder people feel they need a new device if the newer applications are so heavy to run on older hardware compared to before.
That they're able to use less and less. Instead of having 20 tabs open, only 5 at a time or something.

And new tech is sooo expensive. Well it was already expensive in initial cost.

Oh and the fact that they're like, even tech support that do it for their job "just buy a new one give us dat shekel" instead of actually doing a proper diagnostics and repair job.

Back in the day ppl knew how to actually repair stuff. How to change 1 thing to fix it. Now its like "replace this entire unit". Which is also more expensive.

Not to mention this fucking mindless attitude in other sectors of work as well. Not using their brain for a proper fix but only wasteful bandaids.
Or improper building because it has to be done 'fast' which results in having cracks in the buildings within their first 10 years of excistence. And other problems.
What the fuck?!

Id be glad to see all this crap burn down and proper things build back in its place.

Also if anyone else wants to vent, add on.

The culture of disposability created by capitalism is very depressing. Nothing is built to last. Things are designed with points of failure built in to sell more units, and manufacture the constant growth year over year demanded by (((shareholders))).

Items are designed not to be fixable, or if they can be fixed then only by the manufacturer, because they put mechanisms in place that only allow the manufacturer's parts to be used, or only allow the manufacturer to install them. Sometimes these mechanisms are physical, but sometimes they are legal.

The very same company will preach about environmentalism and saving the planet as they release a new model of product every year made in factories with suicide nets while forcing other models out of service and into landfills.

One of the things I noticed is that technology has become more complicated and retarded when certain things used to be so simple. Like uploading media to the PC from a cell phone used to be as simple as connecting the two now its make an account and do this and that blah blah.

Really? What devices and systems are you using? I have an Android device and on Linux and Windows it's a simple plug and play.

Not like that with iphones.
It's kind of a nightmare.

Would be nice if we could have our own operating system in the future without preinstalled nonsense... for phones mostly. I havent heard of it being able to use linux on your phone or something..

yeah planned obsolence is a piece of shit. Apps that stop working with older OS versions so you have to update it everytime, but instead of making a faster, more efficient OS, it only gets shittier and slower.

nowadays nobody knows how to make good software, stuff that is optimized, runs well, a decent testing phase, those are things of the past, because on one side, computing power has increased to the point were developers can get a crap program to run. It is not like 20 years ago where PCs weren't as powerful so you had to make a half decent program to get it running

there was a guy, who was a schizo, that programmed an OS himself I can't remember the name. He was a nutcase for the most part, but he was completely right when he said that most people can't program, that all we have nowadays is poorly optimized bloatware. I still think he was drugged by the CIA and that's what started his schizophrenia but leave that for later.

thats one thing, on a completely unrelated area, it's vehicles/machines and their diagnosing ports. The fact that ALL vehicles with wheels and tracks need a stupid expensive diagnosing tool + stupidly expensive software to communicate with the vehicle just to diagnose some faults is totally ridiculous. And don't get me started on the time lost sending it to a "mechanic" plus the money they charge to read a bunch of codes

I mean, why not make it an usb port so we can plug a phone or a pc and let owners work on the car themselves? Fuckin incredible.

this also ties to the point, no more than 20-25 years ago, some manufacturers really had prestige. When I was a kid a Mercedes was no ordinary car, or a BMW, they would draw attention and stand out. Now they're just another one of the bunch, another plastic box.

all that matters now is how big your "infotainment" screen is, have you seen a modern car interior Vs one from the 1990s?

The only manufacturer that more or less stays within its roots is Ferrari, they don't put screens or any useless crap in most of their cars, they are sportscars but most importantly a driver's car which is what no one else is doing.

But still they're nothing like what was being made in the early 2000s, the Enzo, 430, etc. Other manufacturers also had their best cars in this era, like the Porsche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Murcielago. Now it's just not the same. The last good one was the 458 Italia and they was like 15 years ago.

and this one to let your hate unravel, a few months ago I went to a cattle farm, which was to be rented, so we were looking at it you know, what kind of soil it was, what kind of grass grew there, etc. Inside the rather small house where the rural workers stayed there was this 50 year old General Electric fridge. I remember asking the guys, jokingly "hey does that scrap metal thing even work" in which they replied, in a very, very rural esque accent "of course it does my friend! those are the good ones, from older times"

50 fuckin years and still working, probably never serviced. Now think how long does your average smartass fridge lasts?
