What if they pull something you did 10 years ago out of a datacenter and use it to cancel you and ruin your life? It's been known to happen to people who have made public posts on social media that run counter to the enemy agenda, even if they later change their opinions to be kosher. People who do things "personally" or "privately" may one day lose their security and be victimized in exactly the same way.

But there is a lot of room for play in this field and loss of reputation and criminalization are not mutually inclusive. There could one day be red flag laws but for information instead of guns. If the 5 eyes see you getting close to pages that are dangerous to the enemy agenda, they could raise a red flag internally and dispatch police to jail you. In the USSR they used to throw people with the wrong opinions in the insane asylum to get rid of them.

It didn't actually happen but I was blown away by the fact that it is possible for this to happen.

I want to keep up with the times and technology but prefer my smartAxe to all modern gadgets. It improves my life more than any other tool.

Thanks for the input, you and Lydia are absolutely right. I tend to overthink (autism or whatever; only seeing good/bad and black/white) and I always tend to seek things without any risk, harm or incorrectness; a life of absolute elimination over mitigation. Although it is possible to a few who live 100% outside of the system (homesteading in a foreign country, etc), it is vastly not possible for a large majority of all of us who live in modernized and industrialized worlds in which everyone around us depends on the system in some way or another. Even time has been changed from the old calendars which had 13 months of 28 days.

I just can't get away from it completely and I shouldn't concern myself too much about the wrongs in the world and instead focus on the good that comes from the bad. This indeed is much rooted in my own need for greater self-work and actualization most likely and I apologize for my toxic thinking there.

I need to think more critically and seek to mitigate instead of eliminate all bad things (even those trace amounts of things). Thanks Henu for helping me see that better; the importance of the present moment over the ideal and ultimate goal. It's very true that saying - Rome wasn't built in a day. I've got a lot of work to do and that's a good thing I figure.

I just keep my phone at minimal use, always silent, airplane mode as often as possible and in the night, using it only for basic needs, fewest apps possible. But I need it...

We would have become a perfect society 10 thousands of years ago. We would probably be having entertainment mostly like how Greeks had, and technology would probably be used for education and other important things.
