Greetings folks, I created this thread so that we can share effective supplements and nootropics that have a significant impact on cognitive function and significantly improve quality of life. Today I bought Hericium Erinaceus mycelium (Lion's Mane) , Omega-3, and Brain Health from California Gold Nutrition with Alpha-GPC. I think this combination should significantly increase my mental stamina and improve my concentration lvl as well. I'm new to this topic, and I'd like to ask those with more knowledge just how effective nootropics can be and which ones I might consider using in my daily life? And also, is that worth it? Some people might point to healthy sleep and sport, but we’re already well aware of that, so there’s no point in mentioning those factors here. My goal is to improve my cognitive function and find out how effective nootropics can be, i might use yours experience and opinion
I count on these four together: Mucuna pruriens, rhodiola, kratom, and low dose caffeine (you can take a fraction of a spoonful of instant coffee in 12-16 oz. of water for the caffeine).
Mucuna pruriens, aka cowitch plant, naturally contains dopamine. Yes, a plant can produce dopamine. You can buy versions online that also contain an extra up to 100mg of added dopamine. This is generally safe, it's a low dose; do not confuse with dopamine administered to Parkinson's patients which goes up to and beyond 1,000mg.
Benefits: This helps with dopamine depletion, helps you get back on your feet especially after long stressful periods, or bouts with drug addiction. Use on a short term basis to replace depleted dopamine levels.
Rhodiola: Rhodiola belongs in the same family of plants as coffee, and can help with stamina and exhaustion. The best ones to use are the powder that comes in a bag. The pills generally are not potent enough.
Kratom:
Warning: this one can be addictive. Use with caution and due your due diligence, since many out there are either not potent enough or allegedly contain other harmful ingredients. This one is also in the same family as the coffee plant and is available generally only at smoke shops. I've found it an enormous help with alcoholism. There are three main strains, each of which subtly differ in their effects. Best to taper off of it rather than quit quickly, as it can cause very mild withdrawal.
Keto coffee
This is one of my favorites. Health and wellness "guru" Dave Asprey talks about this all the time, and he puts out a coconut-based keto oil. Or you can use liquid coconut oil, which is cheaper. If you use the coconut oil, go easy; it can cause stomach upset and diarrhea if you start too fast: put initially about 1/4 tsp. of it in your coffee and you need to shake vigorously. Increase the coconut oil
Benefits: Unbelievable energy, especially on an empty stomach or when fasting. I am not a big breakfast fan, I will just have one of these in the morning.
