You Must Speak to the Gods

This has been spoken about many times here by many members, but I feel its important to reiterate every now and again regardless, as many people are new and may not be aware or seem to have hang ups or incorrect mindsets about this.

Praying to the Gods daily, whether it be Zeus, a God you're interested in, or your Guardian is very important. Your Guardian in particular is there to guide you on your journey, to give you advice and show you where you need work. Building a relationship with them will help you immensely, more than I can describe with words.

Yet how can you expect them to do this if you never reach out to them? You must "pick up the phone" and speak in order to receive communication, even if at first the other end seems silent. The more consistently you do this, the more the line will "open up" and the easier it will be to hear the other side. Faith in this is important at the beginning.

Your prayers can be many things, they do not always have to be thanksgivings or asking for guidance. You can speak about your meditation sessions, or about your day, about a question you had unrelated to meditation, whatever comes to your mind.

Cry to them if you must, vent to them, express your concerns about anything and everything. They will always be there to listen and guide you.

This does not bother the Gods, you will not annoy them, and you are not "unworthy" or "burdening" them by doing this. They are not "too busy" to hear about your "petty" concerns or questions. They want to help you and guide you through any and all obstacles or concerns in your life, and you are not allowing them by shutting them out. You have to eliminate these thoughts from your mind, they are not true.

If you don't yet know who your Guardian is then that's fine, it doesn't stop you from praying to them. Simply in your mind say "My Guardian Demon" and pray, they will hear you. Faith in this is again, very important. In time things will happen that will prove this to you beyond any doubt.

If you really want to be sure though, you can visualize Father Zeus' sigil in your mind and say something along the lines of "Father Zeus could you please assist me in communication with ___" or "my guardian." This method can be use to speak with any God (and should be always used in first reaching out, in my opinion) but you should prioritize your Guardian as they are your primary teacher.

Never feel like you are alone or don't have anyone to speak to, as a Zevist you always have the Gods. Even if you are new, inconsistent in the path, or whatever. Never forget this, always have faith in this, and may the Gods bless and guide you all in your journey.
