The Takeaway:
* Ybor City, a district of Tampa, Florida, USA, has survived systematic assaults on the replacement of authentic history with cookie cutter residential and business structures characteristic of the rest of the city,
* The area is a model story of nighttime vice, corporate vanity, and true history, all coexisting. These normally conflicting and disparate forces get along nicely in this area, IMO due to Divine Influence.
* The area would IMHO be a superb place to start Zevist cultural and business ventures.

Tampa, Florida, USA. where I have lived for two years, is systematically coming under the assault of the izfet-industrial-complex described in the pathologies in the ethics section.

One exception is Ybor City, which has resisted izfet and has taken under its wing seemingly disparate aspects of culture. Vice - the area is known to University of Tampa and U' of South Florida college students as a hot party spot, and there are bars and smoke shops everywhere here. Corporate vanity - there are several corporate offices in the area as well as a 7-Eleven. All of these comply with the guidelines of the area which stipulate that logos etc. be subdued and blend in with the area. And history - the area has fought to keep its structures historically accurate; there is even a sub-district called V.M. Ybor which has very strict rules governing renovation and restoration of residences in that area. All these forces which could conflict with each other and could potentially tear a city and civilization apart, YC has miraculously kept in balance with each other and coexisting within a medium of harmony and history. It deserves further study. Zevists familiar with or have occasion to visit the area, please provide input on what you think keeps it vibrant and full of balance and harmony.

In a city where, like most other cities in the USA and major Western civilization areas, are succumbing to this new type of istoryiach - the destruction of heritage vs. cookie cutter Yuppie peach and teal structures. This was an easy going port city when I first started visiting here. Then came sports teams - The Buccaneers football team. The Tampa Bay Lightning (hey at least they paid homage to Zeus in some way, their stadium is even electrified with gigantic Tesla coils in honor of their name, The Lightning :) lol) Then came endless building of 40 story condos apartments office bldgs etc. And they are still being slammed into this city by private venture capitalist groups. The leading business journals in this area all tout how oh we are going to make this city the Crypto and Tech Capital of the Southeast. Ok. How bout we retain at least some identity of Tampa as an easy going and vital shipping port town. That is how it started - as a shipping port that brought in the cigar making industry and later, other kindred industries. Along with solid worker ethic and a base which Florida would thrive on. The tourist and party industries here in Central Florida are later things which only relied on these solid industrial components as the base which they built on.

One thing that YC has going for it is its strong Cuban base. Its Cuban-based residents came here fleeing Castro Marxism and are staunch hard workers, entrepreneurial souls, and strong appreciators of heritage, family. They have brought this legacy into our fine city and it is going to anchor itself firmly into our culture and civilization strongly, into Tampa Bay, and into the USA in general. I sense from observation of their cultural facilities as well as from personal acquaintances with this fine race, that its resilience and perseverence truly comes from the Gods.

Distribution Center

Amidst Centro Ybor and the surrounding historic districts, with their partying glamour and cigar city fame, it is easy to overlook a big area within it to the east - Ybor's distribution center - connecting Port Ybor, a huge network of CSX railroad lines, and endless factories and manufacturing facilities. I lived in a homeless shelter that's located in the middle of all this, and I have to say, this industrial center isn't going to kiss this planet goodbye any time soon. It is a major force in the Southeast USA's economy. Why override this burgeoning, vital, center of commerce - oh wait, class, I forgot. It's all about big, beautiful financial derivative derived pseudo commerce these days. Don't get me wrong: I realize commerce is sacred and Hermes governs it. And I think Trump is basically doing the right thing I don't mean to make light of his big-beautiful ethos. But. I have a big bee in my bonnet with our modern version of istoriyach - the replacement of authentic history with materialistic kitsch, Las Vegas style, that assaults our basic heritage (herencia, I love that Spanish word) and borders not only on istoriyach, but sahuborim, too, as it assaults things that are given to us by our Gods. History. Heritage.

IMO if the Yehubor led apparatchiks who think they know what is best for this city - Crypto capital, boutique cat toy capital (in South Tampa where I am currently crashing there really is a store called Strange Cats. Sells nothing but cat toys. And there is a business here a nail place called Knock Knock nails. :) Knock knock nails / Who's there nails / Nail polish / Nail polish who? / Nail polish is the stuff I use to get hi-igh / When I choose a really bad business name with AI (think, to the tune of Association's "Cherish You") :) / Anyway ... This type of commercial activity. Does not belong here in MY fair city IMO. Youse can take these boutique type businesses, keep them in LA, Miami, not here. I am fed up with the assault being given to my city by these outside forces that have no business IMO d____ing around in this solid industry and shipping based city.

And Ybor City stands strong against these forces. Ybor City is not the only example of sub-districts of cities that hold their own when it comes to the forces of pallid globalism. There are others in NYC, Chicago, etc. But it is one that I have lived in for the past three years and one with which I am familiar with. It has all the ingredients going and operating to withstand the outside yehubor forces of crass commercialism. globalism, etc. I wish it a great future. Are there any Zevists who live or have businesses here? Can I ask you to please put some moxie behind y'all and contribute to Ybor? Ybor is a very diverse city and community and would more than welcome your input to it.

I swear upon all the mitochondria in my brain and gut, lol - that I did not alter, AI, photoshop, this, in any way. This is the actual name of the apartment complex I walk by almost every day. Hey, at least you could have named it Energia. That would have more accurately captured the spirit of the sun and fun area that is Florida. Lol.
