What does it mean by "Sama"?

What does the word Sama mean?
Ex. "Astaroth-sama from the West"

-Sama means approximately Lord/Lady in Japanese - more or less it is the suffix added to show respect - HP Vovim uses this kind of add-ons to the Gods' names - as you noticed.
