Good day my fellow Zevists I wish to ask regarding the differences between the calculation of planetary transits in western and eastern astrology.
For example per western astrology the Sun transits into Aquarius on January 20,2026 at 01:44 am UTC ( https://moontracks.com/sun_solar_ingress.html )
whereas for eastern it transits into Capricorn on January 14, 2026 at 03:07 PM GMT+5:30 ( https://transits.aaps.space/sun-transits ) . Hence which one should I use?

The calendar in the Hall Of Osiris site uses the western one , I want to know whether its correct or will be get a new version in the coming future.

Hello!

High Priestess Maxine stated that she prefers the Western Zodiac, and I think this covers your question.

I've always used the western zodiac. I have found the sidereal to be unreliable.

There is a lot of misinformation in Hindu astrology, but also a lot of truths. I have found by blending eastern with western astrology [I always use the tropical and NOT the sidereal zodiac] there is much higher accuracy in interpretations. Both systems have their flaws, though. Western astrology erroneously asserts that all trines and sextiles are good and all oppositions and squares are bad. This is not so. Taking from Hindu astrology teachings- it is the NATURE of the planet that determines the influences for better or worse not only in predictive astrology, but in reading a natal chart as well. The trines and sextiles of Saturn may be softer, but there is still a negative influence.
I know all about both systems and have worked with both systems. I have been an astrologer for close to 40 years. I am a professional and I will tell you, the Vedic/Sidereal for whatever reason is not accurate. I use the tropical. Certain aspects of Vedic astrology are helpful, such as the nature of the planet is more important than the nature of the aspects. For example, squares and oppositions from jupiter are usually of a beneficial nature, especially with transiting planets, solar returns and such, while trines from saturn can be a down time.
