These are some methods I have found which help in visualization training, you may also be able to use some of these when performing magick but it's impractical to rely on these always, but for training they are useful.
Some of you mentioned in posts before you find visualizing with your eyes open easier than with your eyes closed, this is because sight without light is inconceivable to the brain. So when visualizing with your eyes closed you also need to visualize the light of the object.
The way around this is to sit facing a bright object like a lamp but with your eyes closed, you'll then find visualizing much easier. If you are new to visualizing it is best not to try and begin in a completely dark room.
Alternatively you can keep your eyes just very slightly open, allowing just a tiny amount of light to pass through while practicing visualization.
Another method I have found helps with visualizing is, learn to visualize first and forget about concentration until you have mastered visualization by itself.
I'll elaborate, in initiation into hermetics it says you should begin visualizing an object and must try to hold it there for five minutes.
I have found it is better if you start by just trying to see with your mind, your mind can wander, from phones, houses, faces etc. Just try to *see* with your mind first of all, then once you have got the hang of that begin trying to concentrate on one object at a time. One image for five minutes as in IIH.
Because once you are able to see with your mind, concentrating on an image simultaneously becomes easier by itself, you should not try to learn visualizing and concentrating your visions at the same time, that's a mistake almost all of us have made. Do one at a time, it makes it much easier and you'll master visualization much faster this way.
