Valefor and shapeshifting?

On the JoS in the demons section when it talks about Valefor (I just LOVE his name) it says that he can turn men into animals (not exact wording) I'm assuming this means physically shifting, and does that mean he could also teach someone how to turn Into animals as well? (If he wanted to, of course)On a different note, I don't understand why everyone thinks it would be disrespectful to summon a Demon just to ask questions, isn't knowledge better than any physical thing we could ask for? Thanks!
