In the Western Hemisphere, there is going to be a total lunar eclipse on April 15. Any rituals on that date??

Cool, huh? On the 8th, we are supposed to be able to see Mars' polar caps after sunset! On the 14th, Mars is going to be closer to our planet! Sounds like the 14th/15th would be a great time for a working.

So I've heard that a Total lunar Eclipse is going to be at 27th of September.
What does it mean? What's actually going on in there? 
Does it have anything to do with us?
