i will tell you what i used.
i had no dry pen but i had a black feather from some kind of like crow or black bird of some kind. which is good also as before pens in olden times i am sure people used those for ink for writing all the time so doing it with blood (if you can get a feather of some kind) is good. or at least it worked for me anyways.
a tack or thumbtack is what i used as my finger pricking item. i could not get used to the idea of cutting myself but i am more personally at ease with poking/pricking myself. then after enough poking just squeeze the finger correctly and blood comes out. these you can find in most grocery stores.
i used black paper like the kind used for copiers and that by the way you can by in most grocery stores or at least the one i work at has them.
all kinds of grocery and dollar stores have candles. even 99 cent stores. i had to check more than 1 source but eventually i found black, red, and blue. black i got from ben franklin store. which is more of an arts and crafts store but they do have some candles. blue for me was the easiest candle to find. i was not sure if scented mattered at the time so i used unscented candles. which may be good until you (and me even) find out what scents father and his demons really like.

Candle and lighter or matches,and something to cut with,like a pin,needle or knife.Just a small incision though.Don't cut your fucking finger wide open,like I did.LOL Just a drop is sufficient.Good luck!

Clean paper (I know it's paper but does it have to be any paper or just those small clean papers. Can it be big clean paper ?)
