Tips on doing a standard ritual

Hello everyone

Today marks the 5th time I've done a standard ritual, and despite this I still find it a little hard to do the initial invocation of the Crowned Princes of Hell. I use my left index finger currently, but more over my problem is that of visualizing the stream of electric blue energy flowing into me while turning. Is it best to do this with your eyes closed, or open?

Aside from that, I only have a problem getting the paper to burn completely sometimes. (as with what happened today, I lit the prayer and put it in the burn bowl. Then meditated, only realizing it hadn't burned much of the paper. After I was ready to end the ritual.)


Also, I read that taking a knee was a great way to show respect. But I have also been instructed to sit in easy pose with my head bowed, for the meditation. Is this normal?

If you can't yet see the energy, forget about trying to see it and just calmly know that it's there. The stress of trying to force the vision to happen if it isn't only makes it much more difficult so it won't work well. If you're thinking "I can't see the energy it isn't there" then there won't be any energy there, it does what you tell it to like this. Just relax and know that it's happening. This way makes you are more open to it and don't have any kind of stress or blockages. Remember it's only the smallest microscopic section of light that we are actually able to see, but the rest is still there. So just know the the light is going where you want it do and don't even care about seeing it. It does exactly what you make it do.

If it is a metal bowl, it probably pulls all the heat right out of the paper and puts out the flame. Maybe fold the paper in half a few times so you can stand it up so only a small bit is touching the bowl. This will help it have more surface area touching the air too. Like imagine if you have a half way open book and you can stand it up on the bottom edge. And have the top part all lit. This should work better.

And it doesn't make any kind of difference which way you sit. Do whatever is most comfortable to you. Your entire soul is full of respect for the gods, you don't need to be in any specific possibly uncomfortable position to prove this to them.
