The reason I chose Hestia

Hestia's_light1 min to read

I know the weight of the name I’ve chosen, Hestia, and that has not been lost on me. In fact, I owe a lot to the goddess Hestia.
In the dark months before and after my grandfather’s death, when I was 12, I leaned heavily into Greek mythology. The one who stood out most was Hestia.
My mom was obviously getting things ready for my grandfather’s passing. My grandparents were also looking for a place for my grandmother to live after he passed away.

I had read the goddess Hestia’s story over and over—how she still shined bright even when there was darkness. In that moment, for 12-year-old me, who was in that darkness, it was like a beacon of warmth.

I would need that beacon in the years to come. I meant no disrespect at all. I was told to change it to something meaningful, and I did. Besides Zeus, Hestia is obviously my favorite goddess.

I didn't tell to change it, I just wanted to bring awareness in general in using Gods Names directly.

I also posted another reply explaining what I meant with weight.

Besides all of that, She may be your Guardian Goddess, did you try to contact Her?
When you have an interest on a specific Deity, allways look deeper, there is a reason.

Oh I never thought of that I may have to is there a ritual ready for her ?. I just like the warm safe feeling she brings and it feels like a warm drink on a on a cold day. Or just being under a cozy blanket

Currently there isn't, probably there will be one in the future, I think also for every God and Hero, but I can't tell as I don't know.

You can also pray to Lord Zeus to send you the guidance of Goddess Hestia, and the you can do things lile meditations, yoga, workings or community blessings on vultem platform with other Zevists.

You can focus on Her in your mind (even if you never saw Her), and talk to Her. She will hear you.
