The Pentacles

Hey guys, Chris here with another question for you all. So ever since I was a child I have always known how to draw a star. The star that I still know how to draw, is the same as the pentacle. Though, the weird thing is yesterday I kept on seeing pentacles. In my math book, car wheels, and on TV. This has been happening ever since I had noticed the pentacles in tarot cards. But even after seeing pentacles I was given a sign of fortune on TV. Does anyone know what the pentacles do or represent? Obviously stars but what do they symbolize?
