The moon...

My mother and I wish to know more about the moon. We are watching Ancient Aliens where they discuss the possibility of the moon being a space ship and that it's hollow. What we wish to know is "where does the moon originate?" Zulu legend states that it was brought here in the remote past when the Zulu people remembered that there was no moon before them. Credo Mutwa stated something like this, but he described our gods and goddesses being ugly with scaly skin... that doesn't sound right. Were the gods here before our moon? We are so confused.
