This is what I learned while studying ancient Egyptian history and the religion of the goddess Maat. Let me share it with you.
This was a confession by the deceased before the divine court, acknowledging his adherence to the teachings of the goddess Maat, which were as follows:
1. I did not kill, nor did I incite anyone to kill.
2. I did not commit rape.
3. I did not cause terrorism.
4. I did not assault anyone, nor did I cause pain to anyone.
5. I did not cause the misery
6. I have not caused any harm to any human being or animal.
7. I did not cause any tears to be shed.
8. I have not wronged anyone, nor have I harbored any evil intentions.
9. I did not steal; I did not take those things that did not belong to me.
10. I did not take more than my fair share of food from my country.
11. I did not damage the fields, crops, or trees.
12. I have not deprived anyone of what is rightfully theirs.
13. I did not call a false witness, nor did I rely on false claims.
14. I did not lie, I did not say anything wrong in order to hurt someone else.
15. I did not speak or act deceptively to harm others.
16. I did not speak disparagingly about others.
17. I did not eavesdrop on anyone.
18. I did not ignore the truth or correctness of the words.
19. I have never judged anyone hastily or harshly.
20. I respected the holy places.
21. I wasn't angry without a good reason.
22. I did not obstruct the flow of running water.
23. I did not waste the running water.
24. I have not polluted the waters or the land.
25. I respected the goddesses and did not anger them.
26. I did not steal from the gods and goddesses (meaning he did not steal offerings from the temples).
27. I did not covet the neighbors' goods.
28. I did not steal from the dead, nor did I disrespect them.
29. I remembered and observed what was referred to in the holy days.
30. I did not forbid the offerings made to the goddesses.
31. I did not slaughter any holy animal with evil intentions.
32. I did not act cunningly or rudely.
33. I did not act arrogantly.
34. I have obeyed the law and have not committed any treason.
