I think it’s important to remember that us being SS we progress and empower at a fast rate , especially when working with the kundalini which many are not ready for.  One thing that is very important to remember to be mindful of our ego.
Ego is how one sees himself based on the beliefs that the individual has or has programed upon oneself. This can be bad because most likely  these thoughts are exaggerated leading to delusion and misinterpretation of not only yourself but how u perceive your environment. This is extremely common and most likely will happen to everyone at some point in anyone’s progression. The issue can be solved with something  so practical that a lot of ss seem to forget, void and  trance. When empowering the soul through power meditation it is important to be able to have a focused mind because many of the struggles we face through progression Is because of the fact that we don't know ourselves. We then conflict between our ego (who we see ourselves as ) and who we really are. Through the changes it's important to be able to think clearly, be relaxed, focused and have control over your conscious and subconscious thoughts. When people are hyped up of energy with being unfocused people become unstable. Trancing is how we enter and alter our  subconscious mind redirecting our energy and focus. While voiding in trance we become more aware of ourselves which helps us come to very important realizations. I'm not saying trance and void is the answer to everything but through trance it offers some sense of stability through the highs and lows of progression. I am also not saying that ego is a bad thing either it's important to see yourself in as great and such but when your start to delude yourself that's when it becomes an issue.
This is just somethings ive gathered in my meditations and experiences that i'd like to share

The ego has been a topic I have found to be really tricky. I have discovered that too much ego often times prevents you from accessing all of your true emotions, feelings and desires etc  because when you have a very rigid sense of self image, you then block out things that are part of you which conflict with that self image, for instance a guy who fancies himself as someone really tough may block out his emotional needs, if he feels fear or sadness for instance, but this is a WRONG way to go about life because of course, we would not be biologically capable of feeling such emotions if they were harmful to us. You should never repress anything which is a natural part of you.

If you repress something it doesn't just go away it gets buried in your subconscious and then can manifest in other ways, often unexpected and destructive.

On the other hand, the ego seems to be linked to the desire for self expansion and desires in general, the urge to be and become something more than you are, which is part of the driving force behind human evolution, so I do not think it is something which we need to rid ourselves of as the enemy programs instruct.

In my opinion, I think the solution is consciousness. To develop our level of consciousness through meditation so that we are aware of the different emotional drives which are inside us, which for most people are unconscious, this comes through meditation and it has helped me achieve better integration of my emotional and psychic being.

These are just observations I have made from my own introspection.

@ashleyslade0124That's a very good point. That a self destructive ego blocks out a person's ability to admit the *less desirable* aspects.
I think these aspects can go both ways. One may also have an unconscious aversion against success. Their ego then would keep them from realizing it.
Introspection through meditation is the best way. It may be a little painful. But so are the thorns on a rose.
